I can't watch the remake. Any movie with that dopey faced Goosling fella is impossible to endure for me, he's just such a shit actor that i'm constantly thinking i'm being trolled by Hollywood because nobody can be that wooden and unconvincing yet be a successful actor.

The sequel was a movie that shouldn't have been made because it cheapened the original, fortunately it's so forgettable the stink of it bounced off the OG without getting too deeply ingrained.

It's not a remake. 2049 is in the title. Gosling's character is supposed to be wooden and uninspired for this film.

Watched both fairly recently and I can see the original was better for its time but I enjoyed 2049 more. Whereas if you watch Terminator 1 or 2 then any of the new films it shits on them regardless of age.

He's the same in every film, that's the problem.

I'm just saying he's allowed to be Gosling in this film.

Gosling played an extremely convincing, emotionally arrested, voight-kampf-test-flunking replicant in DRIVE.

Perfectly cast for this role, imo.

Lmao. Ridley Scott did far more damage to the original film with "he is a replicant!" idiocy than the excellent second movie.

Have to say that blade runner is probably best "on going" film series since both films are awesome

Both are awesome. The second one benefitted from better technology to work with for a futuristic noir film. I am voting for the 2nd film because The storyline with its mystery intrigued me a bit more. Also the chicks were hotter.

2049, Rogue One and Fury Road do I think obviously stand apart as films that aren't embarrised by comparisons to the original franchises back in the day.

I actually think Fury Road betters the original films, don't think 2049 does but then again I consider the original one of the best films ever made. My main issue would be that it feels a little confused, taking the original idea for a sequel from years ago and bolting it onto the story about Goslings character I don't think does either entire justice. Visually as well I don't think its quite as interesting as the original.

Original- one of my favorite films, possibly the greatest practical effects film ever made. I like the casting quite a bit and Fancher's screenplay is focused.
But the story is weak, a detective who barely does any detecting.

2049 is amazing, and I probably like it more.

Both are EXCELLENT films and whilst 2049 is great on its own and even giving homage and connecting to the original I don’t like Ryan as an actor at all yet I can enjoy his movies but I feel Ford really shows the difference between an actor and a pretty boy.

I really enjoy both immensely though.
