I finally watched Blade Runner 2049. I found it mostly boring. Although a few scenes caught my attention. One of them was the hologram girl, the actress who played her is very beautiful. And that technology is something else to behold really.

The action sequences were not up to par as the ones in the original Blade Runner. However, the best part of the movie was the Bautista scene. You can't go wrong with Bautista he's very good actor in what he does.

And Jared Leto scenes was not convincing to me, he just came off as Jared Leto pretending to be someone.

Bottom line that the original way more quotable. And the story line was much more fascinating. And the acting was superb in Blade Runner.

    I gave Blade Runner 2049 a 6/10.

He does that in a few other movies. I think it’s called “acting.”

I thought part 2 was a really excellent movie, but 1 was better.

2 was a bit more of a really well done but basic noir.

BLADE RUNNER is the best. 2049 is about as good as it gets but that's the double-edged sword of being a sequel: it's both bolstered and confined by comparison to its predecessor. It can be said 2049 is less challenging and therefore more easily understood, but I am not sure that equates better or worse.

I don't like either move... but I like Blade Runner 2049 less.

Yeah... pretty easily the first. 2049 is good, but the original is a masterpiece. Also Jared Leto was cartoonishly bad in it.

The first is an absolute masterpiece. The way it holds up today is amazing. 2049 is good, I can even understand people liking it more, but those people are wrong.

I find the first one to be highly overrated. A lot of interesting ideas & aesthetics; but haphazardly slopped together as a film. Good, not great.

I found 2049 to be amazing. A few nitpicky flaws, but overall a massive upgrade from the original.

OG Blade Runner by far (Although it's not a perfect film)

2049 didn't do anything for me. It felt like it had way too much respect for the first film and didn't want to step on anyones toes by having its own identity. Aesthetically it was inferior and the plot was ruined by fan service

What is your sweet spot in terms of sequels for having their own identity but not trampling on the original?

I rarely feel like a sequel has shown too much respect to its predecessor.
