You know Shlemenko didnt call out Tito by himself. rebney needed another high profile fight for the ppv main card, and with tito in need of a fight(tito can only fight on PPV) this was the best option. He overrated Shlemenko like the rest of you and told alexander to call Tito out. Probably some extra financial incenctive involved as well, but just stupid.

Hey Bjorn!

Your MW champ and "top 3 MW" in the world just got choked the fuck out by the peoples champ!

So Bjorn must feel like an idiot because a popular fighter of his, Tito Ortiz, won and now will have more hype in his next fight... riiight.

Mostly all anybody is talking about is the size difference. Some people are shitting on Storm but most of all, it's the size difference. When Storm gets back home at 185 and fights the Halsey-Cooper winner...the people that liked watching him before will still watch because he's entertaining. I thought calling out a much bigger guy who in reality, is not a good style matchup for Storm showed the balls that shapes Shlemenko's reputation.

OP is the same guy that thinks Roy Nelson can be UFC Heavyweight Champion.

I know fat country boys gotta stick together, but if you wanna talk about feeling like an idiot, look at your post history, Jedediah.

Yes because when hyper-marketable fighters beat unmarketable fighters it is AWFUL for that fight company.

Tito may be old and over - the - hill, but he is still probably one of Bellator's biggest draws, so him winning, if anything, is probably the best thing that happened for them tonight.

Tito can only fight on PPV. It's in his contract.......how many ppvs do you think bellator is going to have? they may never have another one. They will probably never cash in on this "hype" unless tito decides to redo his contract.

So you think it's good that there almost 40 yr old lhw(im a huge fan of tito but still) beat their current MW champion, one who they have spent a lot of time hyping as one of the best MWs in the world?

Yeah I was going to say this. A win over Tito doesn't exactly build Schlemenko into a star. Tito winning, especially with an early finish, they can at least build some hype around that. We're in for about 4 months of Tito Ortiz interviews with him talking about how he's back and how he broke his neck and his back but he's finally feeling good after 4 surgeries.

He would feel like an idiot because his world MW champ got beat by a broken down near 40 year old UFC washout who was 1-7-1 in his previous 9 and hadn't fought in nearly 2 years.

That would have been like Anderson Silva getting beat by Griffin or Bonnar.

This guy understands.

Bellator done facked up but I'm enjoying it. War tito!

Not really. His MW champ lost to a guy in a higher weigh division and a much bigger name in the sport of MMA.

He also beat Ryan Bader, who's a top 10 LHW in UFC. The same guy that earned Teixera a LHW title shot.

Most casuals don't know Ortiz' record - he just got an exciting finish and it will keep the Ortiz train rolling a little longer - beefing up one of their biggest draws is great for them.

Shlemenko might take a hit, but he lost to a former LHW champ who outweighed him considerably on fight night, casuals CAN see that size difference.
