BJJ pants draw cord options?

Noticing the bungee type drawcord making appearances in BJJ,

I wonder if these are exactly the same as regular bungee cable that you can buy in bulk?

The second link is elastic and will stretch. That is not what is used in gi pants. The cord in gi pants is more like a fabric clothesline then an elastic material.

The bjj gear is all listed as slightly elastic...

I think it might have something to do with tying It Off

if it's very elastic the tie off knot is unlikely to hold whereas semi elastic tie offs are more reliable yet the fully elastic cord would probably be more comfortable and functional

if you could just get it to tie off properly.

My order came in and yes the BJJ tie off cord is just slightly elastic not like a bungee cord which is heavily elasticized.

I think the new chords are a major Improvement
