Just a little fyi, I'm not sure you're using the word infamous the proper way.

Pe de Pano is the name of Woodpecker's horse, don't translate it literally. He was named partly because he loved the show and partly because he walked goofy like Pe de Pano.

Also Duff I'm assuming is referring to me. Worst nickname ever, I must get rid of it.

Margarida means Daisy, if I remember the story it was a pair of shorts or some article of clothing that he got made fun of for.

Cobrinha (you switched the nh) is little snake. Kinda obvious.

Leozinho (watch your nh)...little Leo. These are everywhere. Marcelinho, Renatinho, Robertinho, etc.

    Creepy...Joe Lauzon? It's the stare.

Cyborg, referring to BJJ Cyborg (I don't know of Mr. and Mrs.' origin), he was in a bad car accident as a teenager that involved the car flipping, him being thrown out, then it landing on top of him and smashing him to the pavement. He laid there for a few hours before being found and the doc's said he'd never fight again. Here we are.

    Snowman...who?

    Boogieman...who?

Snowman is Jeff Monson. It's because he was white, compact, and gaining momentum with each victory... Or something like that.

Yeah, I believe Monson got the Snowman nickname from the 2005 ADCC.

helio moreira was soneca, albeit perhaps other people had that nickname too.

ronaldo santos de souza - jacare is just a cayman

pe de pano was just after the horse, not because of any resilience to foot locks,

some more to keep the thread going:

delson heleno aka pe de chumbo/leda foot is good at footlock defence iirc.

terere is due to the song "whoop there it is"

fernando pontes - margarida means daisy. no idea why he is called that.

X-zinho or x-inhos just means little X as in Leozinho - little leo, Ricardinho - little ricardo, Carlinhos - little carlos, Draculinho - little dracula, gordinho -little gordo/Rafael Correa, celsinho - Celso Vinicius, gorillinho - little gorilla/otavio de souza

    X-ao - means big-X: Paulao (big paulo/paulo filho)

gabriel gonzaga - napao (big nose)

gilbert burns - durinho (little tough guy?)

    Vinicius Magalhaes - draculinho/little dracula

Jose Mario Mc Coord - ze esfiha (dunno why)

    Leonardo Xavier - the wizard

in regards to terere, BJJ Heroes says:

Terere is the name of a Brazilian herb used on a certain type of tea. It is dark and highly energetic, just like the Fernando Augusto who was always hyperactive when fighting, thus the name Terer
