I wanted to create a thread to discover whenever BJJ, or any other grappling art, is utilized (in a clear manner) in films or television.
I'll start off:
CASINO ROYALE-- Daniel Craig as Bond chokes a dude out (to DEATH! bonus!) with a RNC, and he gets his hooks in, if I remember correctly. Well done.
INCEPTION-- Joseph Gordon Levitt puts a dude to sleep with a sort of reverse gift-wrap, neck punch choke. Shit was sick.
LETHAL WEAPON-- Which one was it? Either way, this is the most famous one, choreographed by the Gracies, Mel Gibson by triangle.
2 FAST 2 FURIOUS-- Paul Walker attempts some weirdo armbar/omoplata crap and Vin Diesel just smashes the shit out of it (Vin Diesel or Jiu Jitsu? DIESEL FTW, would seem to be the message of this film).
On television over the summer, I saw a dude on a new cop show whip out a RNC on a guy to take him out, but he got his hooks wrong and crossed his feet-- big no-no.
Anyone think of any others? Like the potential of this thread.
