    Their websites real funny too!

Applied Martial Arts | Reality Based Self Defense

"I'll put it this way: If Brazilian JiuJitsu was a man, I would stand in front of him and boldly say, "Sorry pal, you'll just teach me bad habits that will get me killed in real-life violence." As Grand Master taught me, if you end up fighting on the ground you screwed up somehow. If by chance you find yourself on the ground, Southard Combat System still has an answer for it. Its groundfighting techniques and philosophy kicks the ever living sh#$ out of BJJ. We won't look for "sporty" positions and useless BJJ submissions . We WILL end it much quicker than that by using the reality-based methods taught by the one and only Grand Master Anthony Southard"

Erik Paulson showed me something similar but you actually get the kimura. This guy is just an idiot.

Ha ha ha! Holy crap! I love the "Takedown Defense" in that video.

"Just, pop, okay?" I loled on that one. And I like how he, after the pop, uses the guys hair. What if the guy doesn't have any hair or his hair is to short to grab? Well, I guess you're screwed! ROFL

As for the first video, who the heck is stupid enough to think you can tap if attacked on the street? That's retarded. It doesn't matter if you train yourself to take the pain of a submission, which is what they are doing. If I attack you on the street, and I have an armbar, I'm not gonna go slow and stop at your limit for pain, instead, I'm gonna jerk that sucker with all of my leverage and snap your arm in half. Train for that stuff. lol

That was hilarious. Because, of course, when you shoot and the guy gets that underhook you always just leave that arm flailing up like that for him to grab and put behind your back!

at first he says ... you need to harden your body so you don't feel pain.

then he says that when you feel pain you know your alive.

So what I am guessing is that you are suppose to harden your body till you are no longer alive and you can tell you are no longer alive because you feel no pain?

that GM Southard must be an amazing philosophizer.

I'm assuming he is teaching self defense against takedowns cause you can't just "bam and dead " somebodies neck in a MMA fight. It looks like he forgot about the attackers left hand which sure looks free to give him a shot to the balls or grab a hand full and twist... just sayin tho.

My jaw dropped briefly. LOL Yeah you score double underhooks oof of the take down attempt and pretty much pull guard. The kimura is locked in before your back even hits the ground. Instant wrestler neutralizer.
