BJ rolling with Chris from mma.tv :
Chris > Todd <<<< Ryan Hall
BJ Penn rolling at 5% > Chris
wow.. hes too flexible, weird lookin mount too, great grappler
Todd rolling at 2% > Chris
Bj's flexibility is almost disturbing sometimes
Bj's uses an unordothox half guard pass. Instead of underhooking he put his hand on the knee to free his trapped leg. I've noticed he does this in his fights too. Uncanny balance and flexibility too.
nice. I wish he put more stuff like this up on his website.
that dude must be stoked
I'd be stoked if I passed BJ's guard even if he was only going 1%
I wish I had BJ's flexibility.
It is amazing how relaxed he is and appears to use nearly no energy at all.
Chris = Chris Palmquist, who's a pretty good grappler who's been training for years. I believe he's 1-1 in professional MMA too. I think BJ at 5% could handle the vast majority of people.
For anyone who read Eddie Bravo's "Mastering the Rubber Guard" notice Chris uses "The Lockdown", does "The Whip Up", almost gets tapped but ends up getting double underhooks and uses "Old School" to eventually end up in side controll near the end there. Agreed BJ is not trying hard by any means but nice technique by Chris to go from a bad position to a good one.
Anybody else hear in the middle of the vid where they are talking about how hot the room is and bj is like "Man I am fat"
Boring, but funny vid
Penn is the man.
also noticed BJ used the "spread eagle" to off set chris' "double penetration", and chris made a nice transition by using the "five point palm-exploding heart technique". truly amazing.
I have just determined that BJ is actually rolling at 0.01% not 5%.
