Wouldn't surprise me. This is the new UFC, where star power trumps skills. Mcgregor vs Penn would sell at the expense of the hard work done by everyone else in the division.
 
It's kind of stupid to discredit a guy's title shot when he went in and knocked the champion out.

It's not like Chael vs Jones where he didn't deserve the shot and then got owned. Conor wrecked Aldo and deserves that belt.

Still. Brimage, Holloway, Brandão, Poirier and Siver. All in spectacular fashion. That's more than enough for a title shot, especially considering the situation in the featherweight division at that point - Aldo had already beaten Frankie and Chad.

Talk whatever the hell you want about Conor. He does talk a lot of shit, he can be a bit annoying talking about money at every five seconds, and yeah, he tapped to Nate. But he's a legit fighter and deserves that belt, just like he deserved his shot at it.

he wrecked aldo not because of skills. he wrecked aldo because of the trash talk, ufc's blatant favoritism towards conor in the media, as well as Dana taking every little chance he gets to belittle and embarrase aldo by lying about his rib injury and how it's fake and that the ufc doctor said it's fine to fight.

When something like this happen, it tends to make you pretty angry and emotional - especially if you're the organization's 9-10 year reigning champion. Yet you're embarrassed the lied about on national television and painted as a coward by your own employer simply because he favorite another fighter.

Ya, that tends to make you fight like a retard. so yes, good job for mcgregor on capitalizing - nobody said he has no accuracy or power, but he still has no ground game, no subs, no wrestling.


Mcgregor's skill sets and weapons is only this:
1. good striking
2. having the mouth to get opponents emotional
