Looking at the state of affairs at 185, makes me wonder what course Bisping should set. Is it even remotely reasonable to think he could drop to 170? His size would make fairly big at that weight. I don't know how much he usually cuts, but with his size and power he could make waves at 170. If he stays at 185 or even goes to 205, I really think his days as a contender are over. Bisping vs. GSP or Rory would be interesting. How about Bisping vs. Nick...a trash talking nightmare.

He fought at lhw before. I doubt he could make ww.

He should keep beating up mid level scrubs at 185 and taking home 200k purses, then take his bi-yearly knockout when he fights a better than average fighter.

I don't see any reason for Bisping to drop, he's useful to the UFC as both a big british name and an effective gatekeeper to the top of the MW division.

Should he lose another couple of fights vs mid level opposition he might be in trouble but I'm guessing he'll pickup a win or two then have another main event in the UK vs someone like Franklin.

he can't make 170. At 205, he'll get overpowered.

No way Bisping can make 170, he looks pretty gaunt as is at MW.

At this point he either has one last run at LHW or is relegated to gatekeeper at MW.

i think he wil get overpowered at LHW, and it's best for him not to drop to WW

If he stays at mw his next fight should be either belcher or boetsch. Or loser of okami/lombard.

what's wrong with being a gatekeeper? he fights, gets paid, and wins most of the time. not everyone can be a champion. why you idiots ask "what's next?" is so weird. what do you mean what's next? he's always been gatekeeper level. he's 33 years old and been fighting for the ufc for 5 or 6 years. he's going to continue to fight mid level guys and get beat by high level guys. get a life.

I thought Bispy would take this, guess i was wrong. No way he makes 170 with out an amputation of some kind.

I can actually see him winning against Franklin, Okami, and Belcher. If he beats them all he gets a title shot.

lol, so true... he's fucked because 170 is probably too low for him and the 205ers will kick his ass... Bisping as officially become the MW gatekeeper.

Gatekeeper to what, above average status?

His biggest win was Brian Stann who was evidently a top 10 fighter with wins over ????

Mind boggling that either of them were considered top 10 and that bisping could've gotten a title shot with a win over Vitor.

someone loses a fight and everyone says go up or down a weight class,
ppl talk such BS, no way in hell bisping makes WW.
he's a natural MW, weighed in 186 at weekend as it is

Isn't that what a gatekeeper is, a stepping stone to bigger and better things? Gatekeepers have their back to the title holder, whereas up and comers face the champions from afar and try to meet them, Bisping will be there on his teir guarding the gate, waiting to greet contenders on their way up.

IDK I thought Franklin was a gatekeeper at MW, if you could beat him you could fight Anderson if not away with you.

I guess he could be a gatekeeper to the top 10

Which btw I'd like to see Bisping fight Belcher next since they both obviously want to fight each other or Franklin because I like seeing bisping lose and Franklin win.
