I keep hearing this crap about it was a 1 in 10 victory and Rockhold beats Bisping 9 out of 10 times. The truth is Bisping beat him in extensive sparring and Rockhold has pretty much admitted it. Bisping lost their first UFC fight and then knocked Rockhold out in round 1 of their 2nd UFC fight. Rockhold clearly isn't comfortable with Bisping and his talking and fight style.

He may be the better fighter overall but head to head this fight and style clash is not one that Rockhold relishes and is certainly not a fluke for Bisping. Rockhold has bad boxing and a glass chin.

Same with Anderson.

Bisping beat Luke twice already.

Bisping actually has one of the better boxing in the division while Lukes sub par as you said.

I was totally routing for Bisping to pull this upset, but I think Rochold cleans him out in a rematch. Their first fight looked like a grown man vs. a little kid, and their second fight looked like an arrogant douche vs. a warrior that wanted it bad. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure if/when they fight again, it looks a lot more like their first fight.

Rewatching the fight Michael was timing him for the left hook, he tried it a number of times before it put Rockhold on his arse, sure Luke was pressuring but Michael had things under control in the fight, wonderful result for Bisping and a much needed humbling experience for Rockhold.

The first fight was close before the head kick. A lot of revisionist history surrounding their first fight. Also a clash of heads that may have effected the fight. The first round was close but Rockhold won it. He didn't dominate Bisping or make him look like a child.

The sparring thing is retarded, Bisping was in camp and peaking right before a fight. Luke was not in camp, was playing Bisping's opponent and switching his stance to reflect that. Anyways, I think it was a fluke and that a much more cautious Luke wins easily, like he did the first time. He doesn't even have to engage that much, he would hurt Bisping eventually with a head or body kick. And if he gets him down even once that could be it. Either way, it's blatantly obvious that Luke is not uncomfortable with the match-up. He looked way too comfortable, that was his problem. He'd take Bisping more seriously in a rematch and actually treat him like someone that can hurt him.

It wasn't a fluke, but it was more Luke making a mistake than Bisping being dominate over him and shutting him down.

I dissagre. Rockhold, imo, is overall a better martial artist. Not sure if 9/10, 8/10 or 7/10 times... but Bisping is clearly inferior. That being said:

1. Bisping fight against Silva was amazing. He proved me wrong. He is a warrior, and his endurance is praiseworthy.
2. I´m glad he KO´d Luke in that fashion. His cocky attitude was too annoying. You can´t go into a fight with a guy like Bisping overconfident. I´m happy for him and his family. Besides, he´s a funny likeable guy. Good for him.

Bisbing made the adjustment. He threw more than 2 punch combinations and caught Rockhard backing out tall like he normally does. If Luke would have brought his jab back to his face like you learn on day one, he might still be the champion.

So you're saying it's a fluke because in your mind you've imagined the fight to go differently?

But that is how he always fights and it works usually because he keeps his distance. This time he got caught because he over extended and got in way too deep. Luke screwed up and Bisping took advantage of it.

IF they both fight to their capability, Luke wins every time. Overall he is just the better fighter.

bisping is the unofficial strikeforce champion and the official ufc champion

I'll admit I watch most fights while drinking/smoking a lot, so my details of the fight are a bit hazy. The main thing I remember about that fight was thinking "this doesn't even look fair, it's like 2 fighters in different weight classes" But then in this fight, Bisping really didn't look much smaller at all. That being said, I still take Rockhold in the rematch, but would be routing for Bisping.

I'm saying it's a fluke (IMO) because that's my take on it and we've actually seen it go differently. That's how these things work, people make threads and others share their opinions. Let me know if you need anything else explained to you.

You have confirmed my question, so all is good. Thanks.

I don't think you understand what fluke means.

Bisping threw a punch, clearly intended to cause damage. It landed and Luke went down. He got up again and got hit with a similar punch again and went down again, before getting cleanly knocked out.

That is the exact opposite of a fluke. You may not think it would happen again, but it's certainly not a fluke.

It was no fluke, Bisping was tossing out that left all fight just waiting for Luke to be there. Luckily Luke messed up before he was able to put Bisping away.

Having said that we all know Bisping is not some dominate killer champ who is going to run through everyone else.
