He is basically a Jon Stewart who doesn't pull any punches

Does he improv everything he says right then and there, or is he given a basic script to follow?

I think he's filled the gap Stewart had with me. He's far more direct than Stewart but when he gets cornered on an idea, he tends to just be speechless or say fuck it and move on while stewart would find a way to make joke and ignore the point. I'd probably say I would enjoy a conversation with maher more. I also like the format of his show and think there should be more like it

The debate format is loosely scripted like a new Miles Davis song, but it rarely stays inbounds.
He has prepared monologues and skits, like the one in the OP, too.

I like him, even if I disagree with much of what he believes, including this vid.

I would smoke a bowl and argue with him.

His shows is hilarious and entertaining.

What I like about Maher is that he is liberal who doesn't follow the liberal Islam apologist line and has called out liberals for giving Islam a pass.

Maher doesn't dance around and try to be all diplomatic and measured, he just lays it all out there.

A Bill Maher podcast like the JRE would be amazing. It would definitely fix the issue of having that one idiot on every panel who wants to monopolize the conversation. He's way to successful to do something like that, but a man can dream.

Bill always allows right wingers on his show to tell the tale of the other side.

Nothing is better when he just calls them out on their bullshit stats that have no factual basis. He calls it "in the bubble"

People saying he copied Jon Stewart he was doing his stick before Jon. He became famous around 1993 doing this stick.

He's better than Stewart because he's not an SJW. So that's a plus.

He's uber-liberal but he loathes Islam; you know that hurts his fellow libs' brains.

He's good and very entertaining. He does has some absolutely batshit crazy sympathies though; see Vaccines and GMOs.

Hes been cheerleading for Killary too much in the Primary (even donating to her campaign i think).
Considering what a terrible candidate she is (and Repubs haven't even really started the attack ads yet), that made me furious.

Cliffs:

-Conservatives are racist, bigoted, and hateful
-Liberals are right about everything

Thank God we have Bill Maher ...

I don't think so. He's said he'll vote for her but he's been pretty pro-Bernie and anti-Trump, his motto for Killery is "eat the chicken" even though your first choice is the fish. He has become more of an apologist lately so as to not dilute his 'say no to trump' campaign, but I don't think he's gone overboard.

I disagree with him on his even lukewarm support of Clinton.

He's alright but he's deluded if he thinks the progressive intersectionalists aren't influencing the vote in the opposite direction. A significant segment of the hardcore right hates Trump. He's pulling people away from the middle/left who is tired of the SJW bullshit.

These liberal pundits are all smug bastards who all repeat the same shit night after night.

Typical smug John Stewart clone: "Did you see that stupid thing that was said on Fox News (video clip shown) Come on, it's the current year! How stupid can conservatives be? Ugh."

Liberal Audience: (Standing Ovation) "Wooh! Sick Burn! Way to stick it to those Conservatards!"
