Based Bill comes through again. Its insane how dramatically liberals tend to overstate the dangers of Covid. Here is a link to the study Bill cites regarding media coverage of Covid in the US:
https://cpb-us-e1.wpmucdn.com/sites...03/Why-Is-All-Covid-News-Bad-News-3_22_21.pdf

We analyze the tone of COVID-19 related English-language news articles written since January 1, 2020. Eighty seven percent of stories by U.S. major media outlets are negative in tone versus fifty percent for non-U.S. major sources and sixty four percent for scientific journals. The negativity of the U.S. major media is notable even in areas with positive developments including school re-openings and vaccine trials. Media negativity is unresponsive to changing trends in new COVID-19 cases or the political leanings of the audience. As evidenced by most viewed and most shared major media readers in the U.S. and U.K. strongly prefer negative stories about COVID19, and negative stories in general. But the U.S. major media is more willing to satisfy this demand for negativity in both COVID and pre-COVID years. We suggest that this American exceptionalism stems from the lack of fair and balanced media laws and a lack of a large public option in the U.S. media. The causal impacts of this negative COVID coverage are less obvious; counties in the U.S. that rely more heavily on the major media are as likely to re-open schools as other similar counties.

People have to stop consuming the fear porn. It isn't doing anyone any good. The media took a relatively mild virus that is only any threat to the elderly and overweight, and had young, healthy people disinfecting their Amazon packages before bringing them into their house. Its out of control.

I watched the entire show. Lately he has been teeing off on the left, his guests seem to not be happy with that.

Ol bill Maher doesn’t want to follow the party over the cliff

He has always been a smart dude and independent thinker. Its probably hard to be the one unindoctrinated person in a room full of cultists drinking Kool-aid.

Why do you guys insist on lying about the virus only hurting the elderly and overweight?

Also seperately, i care about the eldely and overweight. I think they are real human beings.

then there should be lockdowns on meat, sugar, alcohol and people should be Karening people into exercise, in fact it should be mandated by law, because those things kill more old and overweight people than covid by a long shot.

And im not saying that it would be terrible if we did this, only that our reaction to this is out of whack with our reaction to everything else, and i believe its because they drive covid deaths at you daily and not the others... in fact, indulging in those main culprits is messaged positively and even obesity is celebrated.

edit - ps, everyone dies no matter how much pearlclutching we do. Not living a life is an option, denying death is not.

When’s the BLM vaccine coming out
Need a cure for that

also, fat chicks need love too

funny how the right embraces bill mahr now...... so many broken psyches
a person should be encouraged to entertain options and opinions and viewpoints from all sources. A person strong in his mind can consider a diversity of viewpoints, and carefully weigh each one, and come back to ones he previously discarded, even. He can respect his enemy, and can even find pieces of common ground, while disagreeing about other aspects. Eventually, through openminded intellectual conversation we may even progress towards bridging gaps, and even though we may not ever totally agree with anyone, we can each garner in full intellectual honesty the seeds of truth, regardless of source.
This approach is much stronger in psyche than tribalism. “He aint one of mine, fuck him.” is as caveman as it gets. As a progressive-minded individual i will try to hold myself to a higher standard than this.

Wait all I need to say is one thing they agree with and I have millions of people backing me. Looks like I have a “podcast” to start
