Sepsis is no joke. My wife’s cousin’s 3 year old daughter died of sepsis in 2017. It was the saddest, most tragic deaths of someone I personally know that I’ve ever experienced. She developed a bad fever, her parents took her to the hospital and within a few hours she was gone.

Sepsis is pretty bad but treatable if caught on time, especially once the source or bug has been identified.
If let untreated your body becomes overhelmed by bacteria and vasodilation happens leading to very low blood pressure in which septic shock occurs leading to organ failure. Pretty nasty stuff.
