Biggest Upset In A UFC Championship Fight?

Serra's was a bit bigger imo, but this fight was a huge one too

Edgar/ Penn

Had no money on tonight's fight but had on Penn :icon_neut

He overcome a top p4p fighter AND the alpha male curse, so yes, without a doubt

Serra knocking out GSP is less shocking than TJ completely dominating Barao for 5 rounds and finishing him violently.

This was the biggest upset. This was a 5 round dominating performance. I never seen this coming, and never thought TJ had this in him. GSP got caught, but Barao got pummeled for 5 rounds. Incredible performance. Congrats to TJ!

Biggest upset to me. The Buster Douglas upset of our generation, clearly

I'm only going to say no because TJ is 25 and healthy.

Serra was 35 or something when he beat a 27 year old GSP.

The answer is no.

Not too many people picked TJ to win but nobody picked Serra.

Plus, TJ beat him from bell to bell, post to post. There was nothing flukey about it.

Most people expected GSP to win the rematch with Serra without much problem.

If these guys rematch... well, Barao will have his work cut out for him.

DIllashaw completely outclassed Barao, and nobody expected that.

I completely agree with Rogan, that was one of the best performances I have ever seen. That was a special fight. The way he moved was incredible.

Serra winning was more of an upset, but Tj's fight was something special.

Nah TJ is legit as they come. I only thought it'd take him a couple more years.

Fuck no. Barao was a product of the Dana White hype machine

I wouldn't go that far, was he the best p4p in the world? Not in my opinion. But he's a legit great fighter and justifiably the big favorite.

Serra was a bigger underdog, however Serra also had an element of luck.
While he won, nobody gave him much of a chance to win in a rematch.

TJ won this fight by domination, and would probably win a rematch.

Fuck, I accidentally voted wrong >< Need more coffee.

Not bigger than Serra's but still a pretty huge upset!

I think it's bigger at the time gsp still had a few unanswered questions about him.

Really....Georges ran through Frank Trigg, Sean Sherk, had a good close fight with BJ, and absolutely murked Hughes to win his first title. How are those unanswered questions? He got caught son, that's about it.

Definitely up there for me at the top, i think it was bigger. I wasn't as big of an MMA fan though when GSP got upset so this could be why

I couldn't say whether it's the biggest upset in history, but the fact that Dillashaw dominated every minute of the fight makes it one of the most inspiring performances by an underdog in a championship bout.

Naw.

Impressive and surprising no doubt but Serra and Weidman were bigger upsets
