- Almost subbed by Tito. arguably barely beaten by BJ penn.

- split decision against pennington. not looking much like a killer. then

- lost clearly IMO to JDS. Knocked into next cro cop by Stefan Struve.

The Holm thing i understand because her team said she was sandbagging (questionable) but are you saying Stipe lost to JDS and Struve on purpose?

Machida was never a "sandbagger" which is a bullshit term anyway. The guy allways made his opponents look like complete buffoons and was clearly getting better at finishing opponents as he went along. None of that came as a shock.

If you follow his career,when he was in DREAM in the mid to late 2000s he really did look like a world beater then too. The way he blasted through Joachim Hansen and Kawajiri was shocking to me at the time...and this was a time when the lighter weight fighters in japan were still considered in the rankings

Holm's subsequent performances after the Ronda fight prove she wasn't sandbagging.
