He saved the card and takes risks, unlike any fighter in the ufc. I know I'll get a lot of hate. ...but i really don't care. You can't say anything about anything on sherdog these days without people hating just to hate.
Let me discuss a few bullet points:

-nate always stays in shape (camp) and even said so in his post fight interview. dude does triathlons. so this whole nate not having a camp is nonsense.

-nate cut WATER WEIGHT from ~180, and probably weighed the same come fight night. conor couldn't get past a true weight of 168.. that's a huge difference ...and nate even looked bigger with the eye test. anyone saying they weighed the same on fight night are the biggest idiots walking this planet. period.

-nate wasn't hand picked lol. there was no one else to fight. everyone you could possibly list already had fights, they even called frankie who said no.forget that? even aldo.
Nate was the only person who would step up, so conor said fk it. nobody gives him credit for that.

-anyone with a unbiased brain knows conor lost to his own gas tank, which got depleted from pointless spinning techniques and headhunting. He destroyed nate before he gassed (you could have inserted liz carmouch at that point and she would have beat conor)....it's not because nate is some beast. yes he took a shot and hung in there, but he just waited out the gastank. put eddie alverez or rory macdonald back in with nate and see how good he is.

conor does have a major cardio issue, which you even saw a glimpse of in the mendez fight (could barely breath after the fight in the interview with rogan) that is my biggest criticism of conor.

-He saved the card for our entertainment and the fans. little nate would have pulled out had he been in conors shoes and screwed the card. that's a fact.

revel all you want in conors defeat, but he became more of a fan in my book.
He made 196 one of the best ufcs in history. He could have pulled out, but he takes risks.

hope he works on his cardio ffs. can't wait to see him again.
flame away, don't bother me none.

most of my friends that don't watch mma watched 196. they all walked away loving McGregor and nate

Fight was in WW yet no WW was offered the fight...totally handpicked....you're just salty.

Similar sentiments are in just about every Conor thread made. Are you prepared to admit your arrogance, that you think your redundant thought deserves it's own thread?

You can love Conor all you want, that's your choice... but his fanboys can never again talk that McGoat crap and try to convince us how he's some mythical amazing fighter.

Conor was already ON the card, so how can he save a card he is already on??

Nate saved the card by coming back fat and out of shape taking a fight on short notice and then slapping the life out of Conor!!

sherdog is nothing but redundant thoughts. that's why it exists.

As a Conor fan, you're reaching a lot.

He deserves massive credit for never letting an event die, that's absolutely true. You can say what you want about Diaz being hand picked (he wasn't picked for being a squash, he was picked for being a marketing dream) but when he stepped up and fought Mendes on 2 weeks notice- that was all the confirmation you need that he gives zero fucks about who he fights. That was the toughest fight for him at FW and he took it without any preparation- granted Mendes didn't either, but he already had the fight with Aldo in the bag. He didn't need to take that fight.

All that being said. This was essentially a LW fight without the weight cut. I don't think there's any real doubt that Nate is the naturally bigger fighter, but it's not by a massive amount. Conor didn't have time to prepare for Nate's unique style- but Nate also wasn't fully match fit so to speak. He's always in shape, but there's a difference between in shape and fight ready.

Conor gassed out because he couldn't put Nate away. That was entirely his own fault. And Nate held his own in the striking exchanges- Conor got the best of it in round 1 but Nate was far from being dominated.

Like I said, I'm a huge Conor fan, and let's hope he returns strong- but take this for what it is, a fair loss in a fair fight. Give Nate his dues.

never said he was mythical. hes a good fighter that takes risks and i even pointed out criticisms in my op.

Oh now your blaming it on saving the card and taking risk when he was barking in the media about how out of shape Nate basically telling the whole world that he picked the guy who was most out shape. He just lost to a better fighter all around, Nate even made him punk out with his skinny jeans at the stare down and weigh in. Just beat him everywhere like ah boss.

Conor's only hope is they use him as a jobber from now on or takes a job walking around making sure Dana's balls are always clean you know like they do at the golf course

can you really be this dim?

it was well within his rights to pull a jon jones and pull from the card when rda did. your logic made me lol.

Oh shut the fuck up with this shit. Conor made many bad decisions and got choked out for it.

Was honestly expecting more than just a compendium of excuses.

nate beat him like a boss, after the tank was empty.
like i said. ...you could have inserted any fighter at that point and conor was done.
nate was not out of shape, he even said he was in shape after the fight in the interview with rogan. you not going to listen to nates own words? blinded by hate.

Wasn't taking a shot at you specifically, just all the muppets who flooded this place with overzealous fanboyism and over the top claims of greatness.

The only thing I learned from your OP is that Liz Carmouche > Conor.

you are one of the hate filled people i was talking about.
if it wasn't for Conor taking all comers, you wouldn't even have seen him getting choked out. give the man credit for entertaining us win or lose.
