On the mic with Goldie.

He does a great job.

Awesome acquisition by Bellator.

Agree'd. Worked out well for everyone. Jimmy still has a job and Big John is showing us he deserved one.

Still think they should have kept Jimmy but Big John is bailing them out big time and then some.

Legend of the Sport. Should be fun the guy is very educated...

Big John is great. He’s a natural and sounds like he has been doing it for years.

He’s seems very comfortable doing commentary. His analysis during fights is educational and succinct.

Man, I am impressed.

Who has a better resume of seeing MMA fights and finishes up close?

Dude may wind up being a GOAT fight commentator.

I also agree with Big John when he says someone is rocked unlike a certain Mr. Rogan.

When Big John says someone is hurt, they are. He spent 25 years protecting fighters and you know damn well he’s gonna see things many people don’t.

100%

This change up is working out well, big John is proving he can just as good and Jimmy gets to step up and replace rogan(who I assume will retire next couple of years)

He’s good, but I hate that he says “Lookit” all the time.

My only complaint was his mic seemed to be at a lower volume than Goldie. He was hard to hear at times.

Otherwise, he blows Rogan, Dom and Anik out of the water. I think a DC/Big Mike combo would be great.

I mute the UFC, but not Bellator anymore!

Right on. Though I watched the Affliction shows back in the day in which Big John commentated, I didn't remember that he was this good. Dude seems like he's been doing this his whole life. The level of polish and professionalism he's displaying is nothing short of remarkable.

I'm happy for him and I'm ecstatic for the audience since he brings a perspective that is truly unique in this space--no one has been the referee for more big-time mma fights than Big John. He was closer to the action than anyone on many of the fights that we consider classic must-sees. Having him transfer that experience to the Bellator commentating team will be worth tuning in for.

He’s also shared the cage with a lot of unknown fighters. He actually had a lot of knowledge of the obscure cans the Fortune brothers fought because he was the ref for some of their other fights.

Big John knows he can't ref forever and has been with the sport since day 1

He's an OG and knows what he's talking about. I've always thought he was one of the best and it was a good addition from Bellator imo

I think it also gives Bellator a look and feel of credibility during viewing by having his experience and wisdom alongside a familiar voice in Goldie that reminds us of the old days.

Wish Jimmy Smith was still in the Bellator booth, but big John has done admirably so far. Still room to grow and improve, but it will come.

I thought Jimmy and Sean Wheelock were a good team, but I think Goldie and BJM are much better. The commentary was on point and Goldie kept it interesting and flowing.
