Aka beer stores. When i was a kid id go with my dad...they were the place where you went to get the best deals on beer.

Now im in my 30s, appreciate good beers, and beverage centers are where you go to get price gouged. 15$ 4 packs. Sure they have a ton of variety but the prices are out of control. I got tired of feeling like a sucker so i tried a few different stores and they're all as bad or worse.

I actually found a couple of my favorites at the grocery store for several dollars less a six pack. Anyway I'm not participating in this scam anymore. I'm getting the best shit i can at the grocery store. No more driving out of my way to get gouged like some fkn shmuck.

These are called package stores or packies. Beverage stores!?!?!? You sound foreign...and poor.

I’ve become one of those seasonal beer drinkers and have to shop at dedicated beer/liquor stores for proper selection. Can expect a 20% increase in price over a grocer.

During summer months when we drink only IPAs I can shop at the grocery store for better prices and bulk(12) packs.

My town does have two great breweries that will fill growlers but we save those for holidays.

I like when Americans talk about the cost of beers. Come to Canada and see what gouging really is

Is this like what BevMo is?

Ive never had to go to one, the grocery stores around here stock plenty of good beers at good prices.

If someone is into craft/import beers and enjoys trying new and/or limited releases, you go to a beverage center/store  where they specialize in such. And you're gonna pay a premium.

With the popularity of craft, many supermarkets and bodegas carry fine examples of the beer styles that make you happy, at lower prices.

I support my local beer stores.

Got a brewery near me that charges 20$ for a 4 pack

What style beer/ale is it?

I found funny that you guys have liquor store or "beverage centers" there.

Here you can buy alcohol everywhere. Damn, even in 24hs drugstores.

It's a juicy ipa.

It's a juicy ipa.

Yeah, of course.

So it's mostly likely a higher ABV%, and has some fruit or white pepper and a foreleg from an otapi thrown in for flavor.

Add to that the graphic arts on the can, and you ain't paying for a bud longneck.

Total Wine is the place for all the good stuff.
Much better than BevMo.

Same here, I'm not a full blown beer snob yet. But I do like my craft beer

There's quite a few breweries around where I live. But I like going to those places where they have over 50 craft brews on tap and you can get 32oz crowlers to go.

I've recently discovered mead, damn that stuff is sweet but it gets you fucked up

I live in Colorado, and you can't throw a rock without hitting a brewery here. I get growlers filled pretty often here. Don't go to the store for beer a whole lot unless it's convenient.

I'm hooked on Belgian but have to buy it on line as its waaaaay cheaper

That's a regional term. Must be the Atlantic coast area. Never heard anyone say it in my life.

Can't wait to go back to Colorado. Haven't been there in a few years. When we did go, we went to ft Collins brewery, funkwerks, avery, great divide, and Oskar blues. I think this next time we will go to Breckenridge and hope to get some skiing done.

Funny, I haven't even had a beer this year. I drink every once in a while and since I already know what I like, I just keep a 4pack in the fridge for when I feel like drinking.
