Haven't seen enough of Weidman's striking to judge as to whether it's better or worse than Franklin's.
It didn't look great vs. Maia but at least he won.
It looked great vs Munoz but there was very little striking to judge.
And as for the Silva fight, you'd have to say it was positive for whatever it was but he was never really forced to deal with Silva throwing much back at him.
Weidman's advantage over Franklin is that he's a much better athlete than Franklin ever was and that alone gives him an advantage in all areas of MMA including his standup.
Rich is very underrated in an all time sense. He stood there with a very motivated 32 yr old AS in the second fight and had some success until the last 30 secs of rd 1.
Weidman could prove me wrong depending on how he looks in upcoming fights - especially the next.
