Better MMA grappling - Rockhold or Jacare?

If we look at the credentials, Jacare has an edge.
However i have seen people claiming that Rockhold has the better grappling.

Both are obviously very good on the ground.

What do you think?

Both are so good. Jacare has the advantage in submissions. But Rockhold is so good in the transitions. I'm gonna give the slight edge to Rockhold. Since he did beat Jacare is Sharkforce.

Wrestling alone is worthless if BJJ takes them out. I'm sure Rockhold is constantly working his BJJ... but so is Jac.

I would say it's tough to call but Luke obviously has less grappling credentials but I can't remember a time he was out grappled he out grappled even chris weidman and soon as Luke gets on top it's all over and when takes the back and locks his locks on you it's hard to escape seen that against machida it was a like a boa constrictor

Anyway if it goes on the ground I see jacare outclassing him if it stays on te feet rockhold has enough to stop the takedown

I would say jacare has better takedown offense

Last point didn't Luke out grapple jacare in his first fight or he just avoided takedowns I never saw that fight Maybe the first fight can be a clue in how tue second one will turn out

Against my better judgement I'm voting for Luke Rockhold, because grappling includes the clinch, takedowns and the ground itself.

Overall assessment:


Limited wrestling offense - besides TDs from the body lock he doesn't have much else in his repertoire.

Excellent scrambles: This is his strong point

Decent TD defense: He gets taken down but resorts to scrambles to gain Top Possiiiish.
