Pretty simple question, occasioned by the release of the snarly Fitch by the UFC:

Who has a better chin--Fitch or GSP?

We've seen Fitch take a lot of heavy headshots and keep his wits about him, but we've also seen him have his lights turned off. On the other hand, GSP has never been knocked out, but he's been wobbled enough to eventually submit to strikes.

So: WHO HAS THE WEAKER CHIN?

Not sure if Fitch has the 'better' chin because GSP's never been shut off before in his career, but Fitch is definitely more durable.

Fitch, but I don't think either of them either has a glass jaw.

Is this a serious question? Fitch has a way better ability to take a hit. GSP avoids getting hit. His whole style is built upon that. Hes been hit two times in his career and once he lost and the other time his experience saved him to weather the storm. Silva would have a field day with GSP. That short punch Hendricks did would have KO'd anyone.

Did you see gsp get kicked in the head and get back up, he's got a solid chin

Interesting.

Quick question: which of them has been knocked out cold?

Thanks.

this isn't even close it's Fitch for sure. both have good beards but Fitchs is amongst the best in the sport. having your lights turned off doesn't disqualify you from having a good chin, you can't truly know how good someones chin is until they are pushed to the brinks and even past their threshold. Rampage vs Wandy told me more about how amazing Rampages chin is than Machida matrixing everyone.

Yeah against one of the hardest p4p hitters in MMA. GSP buckled against Serra.. and almost got KO'd against a off balance 40% power kick. Ask yourself.. if GSP got punched like Fitch did do you REALLY think he would keep going. Frivolous.

I gotta go with Fitch for the simple fact he took a five round beating from GSP being knocked down several time and was still in the fight. Do I think GSP could take the kind of beating and still survive? I highly doubt it. Could GSP take a flush shot from Hendricks? I highly doubt it.

Ah, the haters have begun to show themselves. Please, continue; the rational members of Sherdog are entertained by your replies...

It has to be GSP because Fitch has been put out cold. That's the rule.

That's why Hunt's and Nelson's chins rank on the lower end of the spectrum...

Do you have some special device that calculates power percentages?

Maybe he's Brimage?

Justification, please? Hell, Koscheck got knocked out by Thiago FFS!

Thiago ranked a lot higher than Matt Serra.

Also got put into fuckedsville by a kick from Condit that caused Nick Diaz to blow his nose.

Who's got the gif of Fitch/Hendricks? I thought he wasn't out cold and even shot for a TD on the ref who jump in front of Hendricks. I could be misremembering it though.

I'm gonna go with GSP having the better chin.... but give me fitch's submission defense all day!
