best wrestlers (in the world) are gonna get beat in Future UFC/MMA WRESTLING IS NOT BEST MMA BASE

Dude I don't know what kind of safespace fear-mongering millennial snowflake you are but not everybody that does MMA gets brain damage

I've heard this one before
"yeah I don't fight in MMA cuz I don't want to get brain damage"

LOL

more like you're worried about getting your ass beat
Everyone does just like football players and boxers.

99% of NFL players have cte, 90% of college players and 20% of high school. Boxing is also probably 99% and mma is no different only a younger sport with less corpses to study. You're a moron if you think otherwise

Mma is currently 2/2 for cte with Parsons and hague

Do you belive that wrestling is a better base for MMA than pankratIon???

Or do you think it has something to do with the difference between the way competitive Athletics and martial arts for-profit are handled in our country?

If pankratIon was a popular sport and wrestling was ONLY taught in stripmalls by martial arts business owners WHO would have a better base for MMA?
Kali and Akido might be a good base
It doesnt matter, better athletes in the US go into wrestling, so thats the existing paradigm

Wrestling IS the best base for mma in the foreseeable future

Lol... thank God for a folk style wrestling you'll be safe there

Unless perhaps you Clash heads and then you better run off to your physician for your snowflake MRI

Russia is going to take over the world...
Usa = safespace

Wrestling is a better base for MMA in America because we don't have shooto, pankratIon or combat sambo

Wrestling is not the best base for MMA worldwide

Do you actually believe that wrestling is a better base for MMA than pankration/shooto or combat sambo?

The proof is the best fighters in the UFC

Many "STANDUP FIGHTERS" are learning how to counter grapplers........... and there many techniques and methods of avoiding take-downs or going to the ground that are taken or taught from many TMA's.

The evolving part is getting those techniques spread-out and taught to all training camps.

Its a generation thing.

There is always a changing trend of skills that's just a natural existence.

We are waiting for the next BRUCE LEE to enter the ring :D

To be fair most top level BJJ/ADCC fighters are in good shape as well but I think you've seen a clear lack of them switching to MMA in the fashion they did in the past. Often these days its either a late career move or a half assed move not fully devoting to MMA.

Beyond promoters chasing them less I suspect theres simply more money to be made in sub grappling these days, either in comps or training others so less reason to switch.
Fair enough. My point was more related that being in great shape is by no means a requirement, what with the whole point of it being that it lets a regular person with no athletic background defend themselves effectively, while being an absolutely requirement for wrestlers.

As a whole I'm sure your right and probably a lot of BJJ guys on the "expo" circuit aren't in the same kind of shape as those more actively competing.

Again I think an issue is more often these days you seem to get BJJ guys giving MMA a go late in their careers and don't fully devote to it. Its like the difference between say Fedor and Yoshida with Judo, the former switched to MMA in his prime and expanded his skill set, the latter did it after his prime and didn't.

Thats actually legit as Bruce Lee was the OG MMA advocate...

But seriously we're going to see all Specialists begin to disappear from MMA and one day it will be highly unusual to have a specialist show up

Absolutely as the subject is mma/ufc and this is the UFC forum

1 UFC alone is a Tiny Sample of MMA

2 UFC is designed to heavily favor American wrestlers

Its natural to think wrestling is the best base for mma when all you see is wrestlers winning your favorite tournament

Jon Jones, GSP, and to a lesser extent Khabib (since he has less experience) being as dominant as they are invalidate what you say.
