A few days ago, I was reminded of this Resident Evil 3 ending song which in my opinion was one of the best songs ever created for a game:

Made me think what is the GOAT game song/soundtrack of all time. Is it Guile's theme?

I won't count games with soundtracks with songs we already know.

always like those creepy songs
Silent hill got a few good one.

This is kind of tough since the game's experience is going to influence how you feel about the music, just by association. It's damn near impossible to be completely objective about just the music. That being said, Final Fantasy 7 & 8 get my vote, but there are definitely nostalgia feels involved there.

Hotline Miami games

Amazing OST. Here are some samples:

Same song with lyrics:

THIS SHIT IS CLASSIC:

Streets of Rage intro is pimpin':

English version of Final Fantasy III OST:

Secret of Mana also had some great songs. Here's a haunting one.

I miss the days when Japanese symphonies produced great music for video games.

Sins of the Father from Metal Gears Solid V The Phantom Pain on iTunes, which has some other good songs from that game.

Tekken 3

One again, fate brings together those who heed the call...

Donkey Kong country ocean theme.

Also listening to Secret of mana theme after so many years gave me chills

The best driving song ever (if you love your doof doof). The guy that makes all the Maximum Tune music made stuff like the Streets of Rage music back on the Mega Drive/Genesis.

Super Mario Land on the original Gameboy had awesome music.

Not the best but worth mentioning

Suited the gameplay perfectly
