Flash forward
the event
the river
maybe eben alcatraz

edit: sleeper cell for sure, too, yeah

I really liked flash forward, although it fell apart at the end of the season, probably because they new they weren't going to get picke dup.

I wish Heroes would have been 1 season only, does that count?

Tom Goes to the Mayor
Da Ali G Show
Tenacious D: The Greatest Band on Earth
Wonder Showzen

The Unit was excellent but only ran for 4 seasons. It got cancelled because the time slot it was in was a shitty spot and didn't net it the numbers it needed. So the show ended on a cliffhanger with no closure. If it had been put out in a decent time slot, I think the show would have been around for 3x as long.

I'm looking for some good TV shows that only ran for one or two seasons. So basically, good stuff that doesn't require a big time commitment to complete.

Any suggestions?

Rome

Jekyll (6 part British miniseries) Not well known, but it was fucking awesome lol.

Survivors. 2 seasons 6 episodes each. A global pandemic kills 99.9% of the population. Like Steven King's "the stand", but no supernatural stuff. Just watching the breakdown of society

Heroes. Ran 3 seasons in theory, but the rails came off after season 2. In fact, season 2 started so slow and boring that you could say it came off the rails after season 1. but season 2 ended strong.

Season 3 was a trainwreck and don't watch

Was waiting for someone to mention this. Took far too long.

As gay as it sounds, I was actually enjoying Secret Circle, mainly because the main female characters were all hot as fuck.

Was that the show about witches and magic? it was basically another vampire diaries my girlfriend was into. Avoid. Glad it was cancelled

I really liked this show

It was about 2 guys who made their living by being lab rats basically. it was pretty damn funny and use to come on right after Always Sunny, got canned after one season though.

10/10.

Indeed, if you're looking for one of the best single seasons ever, watch the first season. It won't demand a time investment because if you have any love for what you just saw, then you won't defile it by watching further. It immediately, and I mean from season one finale to the season two debut, in a single episode, goes from some of the best thriller content in television history to some of the worst.

I more or less agree. I watched the first season of Prison Break and was like, "Holy fuck! This show is the SHIT!" But then I watched the second and it was definitely disappointing. It was nowhere near the level of S1. I still found it watchable, and finished it, but there was definitely a step down in quality.

Season 3 was simply unwatchable. I got about halfway through and was just like, Fuck this.

Freaks And Geeks.

It was more than two seasons but I always though Southland was cut way too early. There were a lot of unresolved storylines.

The Critic starring Jon Lovitz. Dated parodies, but still pretty great stuff.
