I smoked a little bit of the good stuff over some dinner and began deeply thinking about the best intro to a show.

So we have to ask, what makes a great intro? Personally, I think a good intro should reflect the overall theme of a show, with good (and catchy) music, evolve from season to season, and be at the right length.

With that being said, The two that come to mind for me are Game of Thrones and fresh Prince of Bel Air. I’m sure there are a bunch more but these are the only two I could think of for now.

Which others are in GOAT contention?

Greatest of all time imo

Step by step intro when the chick comes in to sing the second verse. It's easily the most metal television intro of all time. The second verse starts with a face melting guitar lead that was ground breaking at the time for TGIF. I heard that Miller Boyett had to fly in Eddie Van Halen for the guitar bend because no other guitarist in the area was capable of it.

The vocals on it are something unworldly. This woman's voice is so dark and raspy that legend has it she signed a deal with the devil ala Robert Johnson to achieve the singing prowess that you hear in this song. After completing the vocals at the studio, she was never seen again.

Little known fact about the intro: Bob Rock produced it and it was the single point of inspiration for Metallica's Black Album.

We had this same thread a number of years ago. Doesn’t dissapoint that the same ones. Are being mentioned again.

Internet’s slow as hell today or I’d post vids.
But I think Hardcastle and Macormick , Fall Guy, Knight. Rider. Heck most 80’s tv shows ruled this type of thread.
