Is there any couple (couple as in two people who are married or otherwise closely associated romantically or sexually) in TV shows that have an outstanding chemistry like Sam and Diane from Cheers? I was watching the scene below and the chemistry between Ted and Shelley are unbelievable IMO.

Pam and Jim from "The Office".

This has nothing to do with me binging "The Office" for the last two days. Nothing at all.

they did. The problem for me in the earlygoing was that I didn’t really root for either of them. I thought Jim was obnoxious and Pam while generally likable was less so when she was all buddy buddy with Jim.

my feelings on that changed though around the Fun Run episode when it was revealed they were together. I thought both became more likable characters that you could get behind and I think they really worked as couple in a way that a lot of tv couples of the will they/won’t they variety don’t once the producers pull the trigger on the relationship.

Great chemistry. Cheers is just an absolutely awesome show from top to bottom though. It’s very rare to have a show that never jumped the shark and maintained a high quality through its entire run. It’s even more rare when said show is on the air for a decade plus.

Jim and Pam. Thought it got boring though after they got married. Go figure

It was great casting and the set helped a lot too. It looked more like a movie than a typical sitcom with the whole thing blasted with light and flat angles. Ted Danson is a very underrated actor.

I also thought the whole "work friend, but more than a work friend" dynamic, was pulled off perfectly, with all the gossip and natural transition to an obvious romance blossoming.

"Oh', I play a game, Pam. It's called 'PamPong'. I count how many times Jim gets up and talks to the receptionist."

    "He's...my friend"...*awkwardness*

    "Apparently."

That's real shit. I've been a part of that kind of teasing.

    Excellent point.

Terrific show overall too. I even like season 8 and 9 generally though there are some episodes in those two seasons that really stink.

Cliff and Claire Huxtable there I said it. Followed closely by the Buchmans from MAD ABOUT YOU.

I also admit to a soft spot for Woody and Kelly from CHEERS.

Doesn't have to be romantic chemistry. There are quite a few co-stars that seem to be good friends off set.

Didn't James and Dule (Shawn and Gus from Psych) even become executive producers of the show as it went to later seasons.?

I thought Michael Scott and Holly had better chemistry.

Jack and Norma Arnold. They weren't perfect, and their relationship wasn't all "peaches and cream", but no relationship is and it was believable that they really loved each other in good times and bad.
