Ehh... They're great for stand-up and submissions, but honestly, I don't think the positional escapes are all that great. I learned the principles of a basic sweep or reversal from Bas (trapping an arm and a leg on one side and rolling), but some of the stuff, you kind of need to be strong to do. You don't learn very many sweeps from these DVDs.

Actually the best sweeps I have seen so far have been Jean Machado's sweeps.

I just got Jen's Ultimate Pin Escapes, which is all positional escapes. Everything else is feeble in comparison ... they are terrific. Only downside is the exorbitant price for the whole series, $120 for all the positional escape dvds.

Worth it if you want to escape pins like crazy. I haven't seen his mount escape/back escape dvds, but I assume they're equally good. Don't have much problem escaping those positions, so I haven't needed them. But sidemount, scarfhold, and NS -- Jen has the cure.

I recommend getting a turtle escape dvd as well if you're going to be doing lots of positional escapes, since many of them require turtling.
