Best people to watch for Rickson-style BJJ?

If you want modern day examples of Rickson's game then watch footage of guys like Rafael Mendes and Cobrinha.

I'm curious why you would say mendes and cobrinha are modern day examples of Ricksons game?

They seem to have a very different approach to the game from rickson.

Agreed.

If anything, I would say that Rafa reminds Rickson (or at least the idea of Rickson) because sometimes he just looks absolutely perfect in what he's doing. But that's really all. I don't see either how him or even less Cobrinha could be strictly compared to Rickson's style.

Henry Akins has a FB group, hidden jiu-jitsu. He posts some good techniques. Kid Peligro has also some Rickson-style techniques (scissor sweep) in his closed guard e-book.

I learned one cool detail from watching old Rickson vale-tudo videos. He closes the RNC and does a little head shake, removing all space. I have noticed that Roger does this too. Maybe this is common knowledge, just that it was never taught to me.
