Only threads I've found are >5 years old. I am a novice at betting. If you are experienced using an online sportsbook, who do you use and why?

I've used Sportsbook and 5dimes. 5dimes is better, although it was more difficult getting a payout the first time and their customer service was lacking in that regard where Sportsbook I found much easier.

I prefer 5dimes because there just seems to be a lot more options, props, parlays, etc for MMA betting.

5dimes easily. The props they have allow you to make easy (but very small) money.

Sportsbook.com doesen't allow me to parlay my MMA bets. (which is bullshit)

I've heard nothing but great things about 5dimes. Maybe I'll switch books.

This was my main motivation for switching.

I went a little parlay crazy at first lol and it has been very up and down the last few events, but I love the option. The props are great too.

Also, Sportsbook still does a $5 minimum bet right? 5dimes doesn't have that.

    Yup...sportsbook.com has a 5 dollar minimum.

I had 2 withdrawals from Sportsbook.com...no problems (despite some of the horror stories I've read)

what has your experience been like with 5dimes? Any issues with withdrawals?

I singed up for 5dimes and didn't even give a phone number. Didn't get to the stage where I could bet. I wanted to bet on rampage vs jones, and thankfully i didn't.

I'm not a big gambler, so i just said F it and didn't bother to fully sign up.

After a week or two some guy spammed my phone and left voice mails every few days for months. He kept saying I had money in an account and crap. He used some App that let him call from different numbers.

FINALLY it stopped after like 6 months.

I legit would stab that dude if I ever came face to face with him.

yeah, I had a similar experience. I signed up but couldn't deposit anything because my state had just implemented a fire wall on ban on online betting. I got a few phone calls and some ads in the mail. But I just told them online gambling is illegal now in my state and the phone calls stopped.

Depends on the state, I believe.

Yes. The only negative with 5dimes for me was my first withdrawal. Just horrible response from the customer service team... they would ask for a document, i'd send it, then get no answer.. would follow up a couple days later and they would say "Oh we need so and so too". Then they said a document that was very clear was illegible at which point I got very frustrated and they finally processed it. Usually the first ones are the only issue though from past experience with Bodog and Sportsbook. I haven't been on 5dimes long and only cashed out once but it was a pain.

That said, others in the MMA betting threads have had great, seamless experiences cashing out on 5dimes so mine may have just been a rare occurrence.

The experience you describe is identical to mine regarding my first withdrawal. They dragged their feet, asked for a document, I sent it, they said it wasn't clear, I send it again...they drag their feet a litle more but I finally got my check and it didn't bounce.
