Who do you all consider the top MMA journalist in terms of UFC coverage at least? I like Okamoto, as he seems fair, unbiased most of the time and intelligent.

But I wonder if there are some journalists out there I may not know about.

I don't really know what you mean by journalist, so some of my entries might not count, but: Jack Slack, Conor Reubusch, Joe Ferraro, Dave Meltzer are all pretty good.

I liked Joe Ferraro, is he still with Sportsnet? I would like him to keep covering UFC in Canada for TSN.

Luke Thomas and chuck mindenhall. Ariel is a joke

Kevin Iole's more of a boxing journalist but he was the first to report on Jones/Cormier suspicious T:E levels, and I think he might have been the first to report the Silva steroids bomb shell.

Obviously its Ariel Helwani

My main man !
He's the only guy I can listen to & look forward to listening to. He asks great deep questions, and has great chemistry with most fighters.

Is your girlfriend going to let you keep watching him now that's she's forbidden you from eating meat?

I felt Shogun got the better shots in on Gus in the first 2 rounds but in the third he started falling apart.
Credit for Gus for mixing things up and showing aggressiveness when it mattered.

Karyn Bryant

The bathroom interview with Kyle Kingsbury sealed the deal

She's kinky and explosive

Jordan Breen...

I couldn't keep a straight face while typing that.

This. Prime Shogun would've absolutely besmirched Gus tho

WAR Helwani

Luke Thomas is smart and informed but comes off as a opinionated know it all jerk occasionally which is hard to listen to sometimes.

idgaf I like Ariel and his interview style. He also usually has a good rapport with fighters. I really like his hang-out format interviews like "Spot of Tea with Paddy Holohan". Even if fighters don't like him, he gets the good stuff.

As unpopular as he is on Sherdog, I honestly like reading Luke Thomas' contributions and Ariel comes a close second.

Agreed, he comes off as elitist and condescending to mma fans (he also has very boring interview skills), but he provides a lot of accessible mma coverage via MMAnalyst and Promotional malpractice Podcast, which is why I think he has so many fans. I also dont like Karyn Bryant bc she giggles too much during interviews and tries to avoid being offensive. Ariel Helwani DGAF about being offensive or controversial, he likes controversy and gets a lot out of fighters by asking good questions, he is IMO the best interviewer in the business.

Dave Meltzer also seems to get alot of insider info, I like Robin Black too
