Best Metal Songs about war

Not metal per say but rush is awesome.

Now You've Got Something to Die For-Lamb of God
Bring Back the Bomb-GWAR

It's about Jerry's Dad serving in Vietnam.

^ This is my favorite as well, but there are also several honorable mentions in here like War Pigs and One.

#1. Someone already mentioned it.
#2. While it is a good song, I find it overrated and overblown (my opinion)
#3. Ronnie James fronting Black Sabbath was better.

  • War Pigs is not overrated. For me, it's just overdone because I have heard it a billion times.
  • No chance Dio years were better. Sabbath wrote its best stuff during the Ozzy years.

Iron Maiden - The Trooper
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
Alice In Chains - The Rooster

This is probably my favourite.

when i think of war and metal, first band to come to mind is always manowar.

lots of good ones mentioned already, so i'll add act of god by fear factory

Metallica version of he Dire Straites classic set to Band of Brothers.

All three of Metallica's songs about war are 10/10.

1. One
2. Disposable Heroes
3. For Whom The Bell Tolls
Hell yeah (high five). I'll nominate the day that never comes. Its not directly about war but the meaning is vague enough to where they went with a war video (song is about forgiveness and resentment).

If you where to make a 25 song metallica greatest hits, this song would probably be the only song from the 2000s on that list.
