What is the best kind of exercise to burn off the blood sugar? Or is this question completely off base? Is it cardio, or more something more anaerobic?

200m sprints? 10ish rep range lifting? Who cares?

Also, I have little clue what I'm talking about, so, you know....

If you're asking because you're diabetic, you should already know that it's 99% diet. What kind of cardio matters very little. Just throw some extra cardio work on top of your strength training and you should be fine as long as you know how to regulate your intake.

Not diabetic, but don't want to be diabetic so I ask. So lets someone does like to stuff his face every now and then, but not with sweets or candy but just regular food, there is no training regimen that can use up that amount of sugar that is present in the food?

I dunno man, I have Splenda in my blood, so I don't worry about it.

If you're that concerned about it, you should be checking in with your doctor.

Are you pre-diabetic? What's your weight like? What's your current routine? Have you done an honest assessment of your current diet (esp. carb intake)?

There will be different approaches necessary depending on your current medical status. It could be anything from "just don't eat stupidly and occasionally do cardio" to "you need to be on meds, cut weight and do a serious assessment of your diet."

Get the book "Mastering the Zone Diet" It's all about how to manage blood sugar and insulin levels. It also relates it to athletes. There are some good strategies there. But it's all about the diet.

If you're really concerned about it, see a doctor.

Otherwise, barring medical condition, your body manages blood sugar just fine, unless you eat a large amount of fast digesting crap, like soda, and white bread. Even then, you'd probably be fine, unless you're genetically predisposed to something.

the higher your heart rate, the more glucose is used for fuel instead of fat. So anaerobic exercise would be ideal.

But the truth is, you're very confused about what really causes diabetes. whether you do aerobic or anaerobic doesn't make a difference at all. Don't be a giant fatso that overeats or binges on sugars and you should be fine (unless you have a pre existing condition)
