So, been a year now since the prince of darkness (Alex Ferguson) has retired, who's the best manager in the world now?

IMO, it goes like this:

1. Guardiola
2. Ancellotti
3. Mourinho
4. Simeone
5. Klopp/Wenger/Pellegrini/Benitez

Does a manager make a great team, or does a great team make a manager?

Would be really interesting to see Mourinho or Guardiola manage Stoke.

Simeone has done a stellar job this year, but I'm not convinced he'd succeed at Real or Barcelona.

Mourinho, Ancelotti and Guardiola all won CL 2 times.
5 league titles + 3 domestic cups for Guardiola, 7 + 4 for Mourinho and 3 + 3 for Ancelotti.

Those 3 are pretty close. That said if i were to bet which team does the best next season it would be Ancelotti's Real Madrid.

Then you got Simeone and Klopp who despite not much money to spend manage to beat teams as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munchen*, PSG.
* yes Bayern won league really early this year but you gotta look how well Dortmund has done last few years in Germany and Europe.

Wenger as good job as he has done at Arsenal, 1 FA Cup in what 8-9 years simply is not good ehough when you look at the guys mentioned before him.

Pellegrini did well at Malaga, almost got the team to CL semis and next year wins EPL and league cup. Keep it up and he will be in top 5 discussion. Also needs to do better job in Europe.

Benitez, well he has won Europa League + UEFA cup. Won La Liga twice with Valencia. Won Champions League with Liverpool. Wins something almost every season where ever he goes to so have to give him that. Granted with Inter his titles were not much to brag about.

Mourinho even though he lost his swagger last few years
Ancellotti
Guardiola
