Ah yeah, you're right. But I would pick Hendricks over Brown, he is more effective and can keep it there if he wants.

No one's really beaten Brown in the clinch. He murked Mein, Erick and Wonderboy in the clinch. Means who's one of the best clinch fighters @ 170 himself got overwhelmed. Hobbie even got hagdolled in the clinch, Hendricks also lost clinch to Brown.

HW - Reem comfortably, HM to Werdum and Barnett

LHW - Bones comfortable

MW - Weidman maybe?

WW - Brown easily, best muay thai clinch in MMA ever

LW - Brooks maybe

FW - Aloe Vera

BW - ? No one really stands out, almost everyone prefers hange sturiking

FLW - Demetrious comfortably

WBW - Valentina easily

SW - Karolina comfortably

DJ, Anderson, Jon Jones, Matt Brown and Shevchenko are the only UFC fighters who I have seen use any clinch fighting that would be described as more than basic.

yeah, I mean more than fighting though. Like using the clinch to wrestle, which Hendricks would outlast Brown vs his striking around 10/10 times imo

Brooks is good, but Khabib has taken down some of the top fighters with ease - from the clinch. I go with him. Valentina is a good shout too. I think Dong and Hendricks have better clinches, their takedowns are more available than Brown's striking is for him.

He throws vicious elbows from the clinch. His short elbow game is awesome.

Brooks is good, but Khabib has taken down some of the top fighters with ease - from the clinch. I go with him. Valentina is a good shout too. I think Dong and Hendricks have better clinches, their takedowns are more available than Brown's striking is for him.

The only top fighter hes taken down is RDA who doesnt have very good TDD, High and Dunham were getting him down from the clinch without much issue IIRC (they def did take him down comfortably not 100% sure all from clinch), I think Cowboy did too in the 3rd hound cant hemember if it was from clinch

Youre acting like all Brown does is sturike in the clinch. You seem to be forgetting Brown's footsweeps and MT dumps, some of the most integral parts of his vastly arrayed clinch game. Hes easily the most complete clinch fighter @ 170 and the best MT clinch in MMA ever out of any weight class

In the start of the Hobbie fight he put him on his ass easily from the clinch with a dump and had a darce grip which Hobbie got out up. Lawler got hagdolled in the clinch in that fight for the most part. Hendricks struggled to get Hobbie down from the clinch in the hematch and was humping his legs there against the cage for most of the clinch.


Browns sturiking is vastly superior in the clinch anyways, so the TD advantage isnt enough. Hendricks clinch game is absolutely not on his level and too one dimensional with the wrestling focus. DHKs clinch is laughable compared to Matt

Josh Barnett has the best cage clinch striking in the game imo his fight with Nelson demonstrated awesome technique. Dc with those uppercuts is nasty as fuck too.
