This was a pretty good video! She talks about her struggles and the fact that she grew up in a farm below poverty line and used kickboxing and San shou to make money and move her family to an apartment:

Nice story, but wtf is up with that propaganda bullshit about her "risking her life" to "tell her story" they display in the beginning of the vid?

She clearly states (and the video shows) that she is an official member of the Iranian national team, officially representing her country in officially sanctioned athletic competition, and that her dream is to compete in the 2020 Olympics for Iran.

So she's a national sports figure and representative of the regime, not in any way against or in opposition to it.

Well it's silly because she's already well known but I am sure there are plenty of radical men in the area that would like her dead if given the choice

I think Iran won a bunch of Olympic medals in wrestling, including some golds, so no.

Its true that they do well in wrestling as well as kickboxing but they have yet to make a deep impression in hybrid martial arts.

I am in Canada and there are decent Iranian kickboxers that fight mainly in kickboxing. But there are not too many good ones in boxing and MMA.

Although good Iranian boxers are usually from different countries since boxing in Iran is at a low level.

Interesting story. No to be a grammar policeman, but it's "woman", not "women".
