Dillshaw vs barao?
It was pretty one sided so I wouldn't say so. I enjoyed the hell out of it but I personally reserve "fights of the year" for competitive bouts, but that's just me.
Was basically going to say the same thing.
If Barao did a little bit more to make it competitive, if there were more rounds like round 2, I'd agree. But TJ really dominated that one. If TJ wasn't such a huge underdog, the fight wouldn't nearly be as exciting.
A one sided beatdown is hardly a FOTY...
This, huge upset yeah but pretty one sided fight. In my opinion the Hendricks/Lawler fight is going to be tough to beat.
Varner-Trujillo and Hendricks-Lawler are probably both ahead of it just because they were a lot more competitive but Dillashaw-Barao is probably the most excited I've felt during a fight this year, just for how shocking it was.
Not FOTY but I'd consider it to be the most memorable fight/moment of 2014 so far for sure.
Brown vs silva so far.
Ditto. Hendricks-Lawler a close second.
Jones-Gustaffson should beat them both.
Well brown-silva was like a few days ago as well and it was bananas
Jones-Gustaffson should beat them both.[/QUOTE]
its not gonna be as competitive as u think
Performance of the Year if there was such a thing. FOTY is for competitive fights.

The way I see that one going down is that Jones is going to try and prove a point and will want to finish Gus but Gus will hang in and not go down and probably take a ton of punishment in the process. Eventually, Jones will wear him down and either TKO or maybe even submit him late. I agree it won't be as competitive as the first but I see it as a longer version of Brown-Silva but more one-sided.
