Not really a serial killer movie though

I thought Copycat was fun.
+1 for copycat, wasn't expecting that. Scared the hell out of me as a child.I adore this sub-genre TS.

I think nearly all the legit ones have been named. However, I’ll also add Changeling. It’s based off true events, but knowing this, you have to have the stomach for it. The movie is well done, but it’s depressing AF and seeing how law enforcement, and the city in general, handles the situation is unbelievable.
These murders were so bad, the town where the murders took place ended up changing its name.
Halloween.
Loomis is basically a detective.
Silence of the Lambs
If you can actually find it to watch. Great film and totally underrated.
Based on Andrey Chikatilo, probably one of the worst persons to ever live.

FYI, The top 2 films are two of the best films ever made. Leaps and bounds above expectations of greatness.
