I know, we see this thread all the time.

Watching UFC 159, during Bisping/Belcher I was thinking to myself.. damn Bispings boxing looks clean. I don't care for the guy, so I never take the time to acknowledge his skillset properly. He has to be one of the best boxers in the game today..

My list; (top 5)

Anderson Silva
Gegard Mousasi
Nick Diaz
Michael Bisping
..... ?
(Hunt, Cormeir, Penn, Nate, Aldo,)

Bisping, Pearson, Edgar, JDS, Nog, is no particular order.

Mighty Mouse, Edgar, Cruz, Barao (he outboxed McDonald), Wineland, Swanson (though, he gets a little erratic from time to time), I liked what I saw of McGregor, though I would probably need to see more of him and GSP.

At the higher weights JDS, Cain (he outjabbed and outboxed JDS in their last fight, takedown threat or not), Cormier, Hunt, Nelson (seriously, training with Jeff Mayweather has helped), Costa, Machida (though a lot of what he does isn't really traditionally boxing, a lot of what he does can be construed as good boxing), Belfort and lil Nog.

I'm sure there are others (not on the original list).

Best boxers in the UFC by far are these blue ones:

Where the hell is junior on that list, get diaz off that list now. Overrated like hell.

Nobody in MMA fights with anything resembling a proper boxing stance and technique because you can't with kicks and takedowns being part of the game. So my answer is nobody.

People gotta get over it and realize MMA is just a big hodgepodge of techniques and skills thrown together in a mixing pot at this point.

What's a proper boxing stance? There are so many different stances that are utilized in boxing.

Just because they aren't on pro boxers levels doesn't mean they can't have good boxing. And even if they don't, you could make an argument that he's asking for whos the best of the worst..

And I'll say it again..Ross Pearson needs some damn love in this thread.

People highly underestimate Hunt's boxing. He's a high-level kickboxer that is very boxing oriented, as well as being a member of a boxing club (he regularly spars with local pro boxers).

Anderson Silva is another good mention. His boxing foundation is solid, and considering that he's also talented/witty, he makes extremely good use of it. However, he has yet to be tested by someone that can strike as good as him (Hunt, for example, has faced dozens of other high level boxers). Anderson has not yet faced such a challenge in his career. Don't claim that he's the #1 striker on earth; he obviously isn't. He just happens to be very good at striking within the context of the available MMA fighter population, most of which are better at grappling than they are at striking - most of which are nowhere near good enough to strike with Anderson.

Everyone else's boxing is good but incomparable to that of these two.

I hope people will read this before they make a post: In UFC (and MMA in general) there are more good and high-level grapplers than there are good strikers; high-level strikers are actually quite rare in MMA, and even rarer the ones that transition well to this multi-style sport.

as if a fighter never changes his stance and goes straight into boxing mode.

dumb, dumb and more dumb.

My vote is Anderson. And its not even close.

I have to say Gus.

Good footwork, reasonably tight defence, crisp punches.

Dos dropped his stock in his last fight by forgetting something called defence.

GSP and Macdesi have been tooling dudes with the jab too.

But the champ is Silva, slipping followed by KO straights. Beautiful.

Wineland dismantling Picket was some of the best boxing I've seen in the UFC.
