Curious to get some opinions of what people think about UFC flyweights ...

Sure, they don't bring the power of the heavyweights and they're smaller than most average people, but guys like Demetrious Johnson, Joseph Benavidez, Ian McCall, John Dodson, and Ali Bagautinov deliver some of the most exciting fights in MMA today.

Personally, I'm always amazed by the speed of these 125 pounders, but after Johnson KO'd Benavidez last December, I'm even more intrigued.

I also just read this piece from Fightland that talks about DJ and Bagautinov's clash at UFC 174, which kind of prompts this thread.

Check out the story and share your thoughts: http://fightland.vice.com/blog/johnson-vs-bagautinov-the-fastest-show-on-canvas

When they fight, I get 6 inches from the TV and they look like super heavyweights.

I really don't look at them any differently.. I enjoy them for the same reasons as I do the other weightclasses. There are FLWs out there that have heavy hands compared to other FLW.

I really have enjoyed the flyweights, they are almost always exciting. I really like everything under 155 actually, I have a ton of BW fighters that I like. Everything except WMMA that is under 155 has been great additions to the UFC in my opinion.

Guys like Dodson and McCall (got robbed by Mighty Mouse) are fun to watch but as a whole the division doesn't excite me too much.

I watch tons of MMA. Was a WEC fan (they didn't have flyweights...I know) but I am a bigger fan of LHWs and HWs (could be because Pride had amazing HW and LHW divisions with crazy tournaments and spoiled me)

Still can't get into Flyweights, don't think I've ever watched more than a full minute of flyweights fighting.

Its got the same problem as heavyweight.......just not enough guys born that size to make a deep enough division but i do enjoy the fights

I hate it and wish they would scrap the division

    Lol, GTFO of here.

So when a FLW fight comes on, even if it starts out exciting you just change the channel or leave the room? What, out of principle?

I don't get this mindset, and usually don't believe it.

There are very few cans at 125 which is both good and bad for the division.

Well it depends who you're watching. Elite guys like MM and Dodson almost bring a tear to my eyes. What they do is technical brilliance.

I can't stand slow and gassed fighters, so I naturally enjoy the lighter weightclasses.

Because dog fighting is unethical and wrong, so we get humans the size of pitbulls to do it instead.

I kid. The Lil dudes are fun as hell to watch sonic the hedge hog themselves all over the octagon.

Plus they would kick anyone on this forums ass, so I don't know why they get hated on.

They seem to have a higher finishing rate to me; I could be wrong though.
