I'm starting gi bjj tomorrow and obviously need to buy a gi. Anyone have any suggestions on the best quality gi under $100?

check out the gear and equipment forum, loads of gi reviews in there.

Vulkans are good quality and not too expensive.

Well if you are new to bjj then you definetly want a "lucky gi" w/ as many patches as you can, that way people will automatically assume you are at least a blue belt.

I've heard HCK's are pretty nice, and really inexpensive. Fuji's are slightly more expensive on average ($10 more) and are pretty damn nice.

I picked up my fuji the other day from Budovideos for 75 and it feels great so far.

There are also a ton of great reviews in the gear and equipment review subforum, a few specifically on HCK and Fuji.

If you're looking for a gi right around the 100-120 dollar range your options open up quite a bit more, and the quality seems to be pretty high.

why ?
I got 2 , really like them .

When you "second" something, that means you are agreeing.

It is a term from normal meeting practice where one person "moves" to have something done and there is only a voted if another person "seconds" the motion.

Just picked up a Gameness pearl. My second gameness, very happy with it. Cost $104 on north american bjj stores website.

Padilla & Sons are relatively cheap, and are awesome especially if you are a big guy. I am 6'4 and was about 310 when I got mine and had to shrink it as much as I could.

I use a Fuji and am very happy with that. I also got a HCK when I started training. Thick collar, but very durable and long lasting. Go with the single weave if you get HCK.

Padilla and Sons I've never tried, but I've heard that it's a high quality, inexpensive gi.

I'll second this one. Love my Padilla & Sons.

Yeah, you can't go wrong with a Fuji or Gameness Gi cheap and very durable.

Edit: Depending of what country you live in we can metion some sites you can order from.

most affordable bjj gi? A judo gi. lol...

But seriously, I do use a judo kimono and have never done judo - only bjj.

I do plan on buying a bjj gi soon though. Have a hard time justifying the cost though, since my current gi is really all I need.

wow...those spartan gi's looking really sharp...I'll have to look into those.
