Best Acting In "Django Unchained"

Any little movement with those had my attention.

Man and the way her eyes move when she moves them...the things I would do to her under the covers boyyyyy. Lol.

I loved this film... a great return to form from quentin, was not happy with
inglorious basterds.

Christolph was great in both though... the entire script revolved around him
though... not foxx.

Doesnt fox have a best actor for ray charles?

I agree with all of you on this about Leo and Waltz. Just crazy though how far Fox has come in his career.

Sam Jackson.

That other thread about non Oscar winners made me think he's about due -- not only is he enormously popular, he adds a great deal of credibility to any vehicle. It's why Quentin puts him in all his films. Sam Jackson lets Quentin get away with saying n-word all the time. However, to be fair he made Sam Jackson who he is today, creating a space for Sam to do his thing and continues to do so time and again -- so it's a symbiotic relationship that delves just nicely into blaxploitation. I get that it's too far for Spike, but part of me think Spike's just salty he was Sam's breakthrough but Sam continues to work and receive more accolades with QT.

I don't buy into the notion he's just ah angry Black man, he often provides the foundation for the scenes he's in. The story turns on his face. At one point I would have said he was the Black Bruce Willis, due to Willis' ability to anchor a film and make it real -- but honestly Sam Jackson is in his own class.

I'm so tired of seeing him in every other movie.

Dicaprio imo

Thought he was fantastic

Leo stole it imo. Holy shit was he great.

This. Very chilling spots from Leo in the film. Really stole the show.

All of them were damn good though. Samuel Jackson was just Samuel Jackson in the 1800's.

But everyone always loves Samuel Jackson.

One of the criticisms people say about Leo is that he plays the same character in every movie. I have not seen Django yet, but just from previews this looks like a role that he hasn't played too often. I'm glad to see people saying he did an amazing job. Hope I get to see the movie this weekend!

Foxx shouldn't be in that role. His performance was kinda bland. Perhaps Denzel would have blow that role out of the water

Tell them that Leo is one of the best actors there is right now. One of the only things that's making me want to go see Django is knowing DiCaprio knocks his roles out of the park.

Leo is at his peak right with no signs of slowing down

Leo stole the movie. He sold me on his character with how sadistic he could be, he changed his moods so fluidly. Sam was a clsoe second though

Wow... Just no. Denzel doesn't fit there. Foxx was fine in the role

Foxx was lacking serious facial expression relating to certain events. Like seeing his wife in that wooden container. You would expect for him to show more anger in his face all while showing restraint. Also how bout seeing his fellow buddy dead (Waltz) on the ground. No emotion, just took his wife realease form and said good bye. Finally how bout the bar scene where Waltz was ordered to surrender by the town Marshals. As Waltz said follow my lead and don't make quick movement, I was expecting Foxx to showcase facial expression of someone who is scared shitless.

Denzel heck even Will Smith would play a more convincing role than someone who is supposed to be oppressed turn sharpshooter

Agree completely. Foxx was rather unremarkable.

Funny you should say that. Quentin Tarantino wrote the role with Will Smith in mind and it was his part if he wanted it.
