I've been looking high and low for a great 18oz+(20 if possible) training/sparring velcro glove. I love lace up but then I need someone to lace me up every time.

Can anyone recommend anything? All I've found are the following.

    Hey

Ive been on the same quest some time ago.. was looking for training / sparring gloves as heavy as possible, to inrease arm / shoulder strength and speed.

Most boxing gloves companies make 18 oz gloves.. some, but few, make 20 oz gloves. However, i bought a pair of shevlin gloves (HOME) .. its a small family business in New York, their gloves are handmade and very very high quality and super durable. Their gloves are custom made, meaning you tell them what you want in your gloves and they make them that way. So you can tell them you want your gloves extra heavy.. its what i did, so they made me a pair of sparring / training gloves the size of 16 oz but with a weight of 22 oz. The gloves are great, but old school; they are not as tight and the wrist support isnt as good as in now a days standard gloves ;) .. but otherwise just fine =) .. feel free to write them an email they are very customer friendly ;)

    hope that helps =)

Do you use 18oz to protect your hands or for hand speed?

I use 18oz for both hand protection and hand speed, but mostly for the speed and conditioning.

I need the gloves for bag work, focus mitts and sparring.

the ringside ones look nice. can anyone else recommend them? I've had gloves with the elastic cuff, they are also somewhat of a pain to put on.
