This question just popped into my head. Since WW has had two very dominant champs, it seems as though the third spot for "greatest UFC WW title holder" might be up for grabs.

Who do you think deserves that title? I personally think that Lawler deserves it over Miletich, whom I think is the only other real contender for that spot. You can make the argument that the Hendricks 2 and Condit decisions take away from his claim, but Pat also had some losses outside of the UFC during his title reign.

T-Wood is also in the running imo, despite his fights being very slow paced.

Can somebody explain the purpose of these "greatest ___ of all time" threads?

Same questions every day with the same fucking names.

I'm just fucking curious about the achievements of WW champions, that's all.

I don't care about a debate of who's better than who, I just wanna see the accomplishments.

I give it to Lawler because Miletich was losing fights outside the promotion in between defences and while Lawler has a couple debatable decision wins Woodley has a draw and a debatable decision as champ

Definitely Penn, even though he left right after winning.

But I'm not sure if people these days realize that him, a lightweight, beating Hughes was like Werdum submitting Emelianenko. Unthinkable at the time.

Robbie Lawler, all of his fights were true wars, the most exciting WW champion to watch for sure.

It really shouldn’t be Lawler over Woodley.

Including their win both have had 4 title fights during their reign.

    Lawler:
SD Win vs Hendricks (title victory)
TKO win vs Rory (5th round)
    SD win vs Condit
KO loss vs Woodley (first round, title loss).

    Woodley:
KO win vs Lawler (first round, title win)
Majority draw vs Thompson (one judge scored the fight a win for Woodley, Woodley retains)
    Majority decision win vs Thompson
    Unanimous decision vs Maia

Woodley’s last two fights may have been dull as fuck but really in Lawler’s 3 title victories he had two split decision wins and would have lost a split decision vs Rory had he not stopped him or got at a 10-8 (two of the three judges had Lawler down 39-37 through four rounds).
