Elections Bernie drops out of Primary

It's not official until the president twists the ceremonial knife

PERFECT

Say what you want about Trump, but he fuckin' knows what the game is all about.

And a lack of enthusiasm among his base and the same weaknesses Hillary did. We'll see what happens but that recipe is sure as hell not a guarantee of success

Bernies enthusiasm came from the poor and youth -- both of which didn't show up in the primaries. Not sure banking on the more undependable base is the best strategy.

That's the tragedy in all this: a significant portion of those Bernie Bros were never reliable democrat votes. His strategy was to bring new voters in and he was pretty successful at it. If they are counting on all of Bernie's supporters to simply switch to Biden, they're going to come up short. Hopefully they can still have enough to win, but it's not getting easier from here.
Side note: if they think the Bernie Bros are being too mean, they're gonna have a rough time with the MAGA trolls.

Biden also brings in new voters, and probably more than Bernie does, though it's hard to say. Both (and all candidates) also lose some. Figuring out which candidate is more likely to win in a race is incredibly difficult and not something you can just kind of do some armchair reasoning about to get a good answer. The difference is generally very small anyway (if you look at attempts to quantify the answer, you'll see that that's the most common conclusion). As far as that last point, the normie left is pretty used to unhinged attacks from the right. It's more surprising when you pretty much agree with someone and get unhinged attacks in response.

They did just not as much as Bern supporters had hoped. If the ones that did show up don't show up for Corn Pop we're gonna repeat 2016

Worst generation in American history

They didnt really show up. The demographic who did show up were suburbanites and they went for Biden.

if bernie is real, and not a democrat shill, he'll run as an independent.

He said from the beginning of the primaries that he will support whoever the Democratic nominee is. He will stick to his word.

Good riddance, you socialist piece of shit. And a nice, big, heartfelt fuck you to all his supporters. Enjoy 4 more years of President Donald J. Trump.

Amen brother.

We're staring into the fascist abyss now.

LOL @ "the fascist abyss". If it's so fucking bad living here then why don't you move?

I can only imagine how pissed dumb comments like this make first generation Chinese and Russian Americans, who are quite familiar with the difference between fascism and a democratic republic.
Oh no we have to work for a living!
Some of you fuckers really need a reality check.

Why wasn't bernie in South Carolina like biden? Biden understood more than Bernie.
because Bernie was actually WINNING states, before losing that particular one. Biden skipped many states and only came out to that one because he was projected to win. The media narrative shifted to Biden hard, and the rest is history. Biden had a game plan of consolidating his votes, which did in Bernie, who couldnt get any real endorsements other than jessie jackson. "Nobody likes him" - Hildog on bernie, and she was right.

yea, this is very puzzling for me as well.

just a few months ago, he was distant 4th place...there was no buzz around him and many people were actually dismissing him, urging him to suspend his campaign.

I didn't think Biden was going to get the nod.
I'm still not sure he will. Wouldn't surprise me if he dropped out at the last minute and they put in an "emergency" candidate that they've been sitting on.
