Bernie Buys $600,000 Summer Home

That's really not that much. Even for a third property, at his age, that's just sound investing to me. He isn't about that life like he says he is though.

Feel the Bern!
Wow. His 1040 is actually even simpler than I imagined. Don't agree with the guy on much but he is genuine.

He's actually rich, but he got it by being born into it and resents people who earn their money.

You should be banned for this kind of entirely baseless slander. I have specifically told you before that there is no basis in truth to this characterization. Yet you keep repeating it as if it is some matter of public record.

You are a sick, vile dog. Probably the only person I have ever encountered on the web who I would like to physically injure.

Yes I follow politics.

I resent your need to label me (and make biased assumptions no matter what I respond with).

How about we just talk?

Is it hard to believe that a man who probably, and many people are saying this, has a handful of years to live, decided that after his failed presidential bid he would like to spend some time on a lake?

You can't run on a platform of income inequality, declaring that too few have too much and too many have too little, and not expect to be put under a financial microscope by your political opponents. (Not to mention all your thinking, would-be supporters.)

In addition, you can't be a career politician who claims Washington is meant to be a place for public service, not a place to get rich, and escape scrutiny concerning your own standard of living.

By way of comparison, Ralph Nader, a man who, as a political candidate, never gained anything approaching Bernie's levels of support, but who holds similar positions on economic policy, lives in a modest DC apartment. And donates over 80% of his after-tax income to philanthropic causes.

As far as public perception is concerned, Sanders the socialist owning three homes worth almost 2 million dollars plays like the conservative, traditional and family values Christian politician caught banging dudes at the bath house.

It's a bad look that screams "do as I say, not as I do".

Wow. Gotten to.

Wow. Gotten to.

Hey, buddy, how would you like me to post, "But what about your conviction for possession of child porn?" every time you try and criticize acts of child abuse in the WR?

And then, when you deny it, claim that you mentioned the conviction yourself once in some old conversation?

Would you be cool with that? Or "gotten to"?

Kind of shocking if you're not familiar with him.

Also, my comments are based on his own words--specifically, he's talked about his father's career.

I've told you flat out that whatever impression you have on this count is entirely off-base. But you keep repeating it to see how many times you can get a rise out of me. Even as you know my mother is in her last days, on medicaid. That's what proves you are a lying, reprehensible, sadistic POS.

What impression I have came from you. I asked you to clarify, and you have not. It's entirely consistent with your views on a wide variety of issues, in addition to being something you have pretty explicitly stated. I suspect you're going back and forth on it because in different contexts, the self-serving bio is different.

Jeez, man, the last thing I want to do is get more of a rise out of you. It's disturbing to me how "risen" you are and get.

I appreciate your sense of humor at times (though it tends to come from a bitter place), but I think that you're either pretty misguided (if you're genuinely a progressive, like you claim to be, I think you're being duped) or that you're not entirely upfront about your views (I think you're more of a right-winger than you admit, possibly to yourself). Or maybe some combination. If it's a genuine mistake, I think part of the issue is a skewed perception and maybe a lack of empathy. So I think it's a good thing to call your attention to those blind spots (either failure of knowledge because of your own circumstances or failure of imagination)--something that you should appreciate if your intentions are good.

How coukd a US senator ever afford a half million dollar home?

how do regular joe-shmoes afford half-million dollar homes? lots of people can afford it.

So you were convicted of child porn? Gross.

What a load of bullshit...

I made two statements about my history here once that you latched onto: My dad was an executive. And we belonged to a ski club when I was a child. That's it.

That then became "Ultra is rich and lives off a trust-fund. He said so himself."

You're an emotionally damaged sicko whose hobby is trying to upset people via internet slander-trolling. What makes it even worse is coupling it with the pretense that you're a civil, friendly person just looking to discuss "the issues".

This thread is a great example of your ability to completely derail legitimate, on topic discussion by lobbing in a personal grenade. But, of course, you know all this and just sit back and laugh behind your keyboard. You're human excrement.

I like how most in this thread are trying to avoid the elephant in the room.

Why am I even aware that Sanders bought a $600,000 summer home?

Because it made the news.

If Bernie bought a new Prius last Saturday do you think it would have been at the top of several internet newsfeeds?

But the house made the news. Why? And what has been virtually every journalist's angle on the story?

Your belief that I like watching you lose your shit (whether it's directed at me or not) is incorrect. You seem desperately unhappy to me, and it's not fun to read that, and I sincerely hope you get past it. I've known people who have struggled with that kind of thing--good people--and I can't imagine how bad it is, though your nastiness makes it hard to sympathize. And I explained my thinking in the post you're responding to.

Fill in the blanks for us. How is this a bad thing? It sounds like you're just repeating right-wing cheap shots.

You accuse someone of nastiness, then post this about them.

You can't have it both ways

Someone needs to reprogram your algorithms
