With word of Da Bronx minor injury canceling their #1 contender bout.

Does Benny finally get a straight title shot with no extra fight needed?

Please let him get what he deserves!
We don't need a Ferguson part 2.
 
It's really annoying how UFC marginalizes certain guys in each division.. Dariush, Arnold Allen, Belal all should've been fighting for belts with the win streaks they were on, not continually having to sit in limbo while others are gifted title shots, and they have to risk their winstreak against other guys who've had their turn like Arnold Allen did tonight. The UFC has never seemed like less of a sport to me then when you think of it in context of Arnold Allen needing a 10-0 streak, and then also still having to beat Max and Volk to get a title, while they just handed an interim title to Yair for beating Emmett off of a 1 win streak, because of Mexico marketing dollars. This is a clownshow, not a sport.

They've always done this. If fighters aren't exciting(particularly 1 dimensional takedown artists) they try waiting it out until they either lose or leave. In the case of Shields they weren't even taking chances they cut him when he was on a 4-1 roll publically saying something like "he was never going to be champ anyway". And the sidebar to that was "because we were never giving him a title shot again".
 
I hope so. Don't wanna see Charles lose, but don't want Benny's title hopes derailed.

Depends how bad Oliveira's injury is. They want Islam on the October Abu Dhabi card, so if they can rebook Olives-Dariush for May/June maybe they can still do it and have the winner fight in October (if they're too hurt maybe they ask Poirier/Gaethje to fight Islam?).

If the injury's a longer recovery they could either just do Islam-Benny Abu Dhabi or pull Islam off that card (looks like Khamzat and the WW title will be on that card, so they can afford to take Islam off) and have him fight Benny in July/August (gives him over two months post-Ramadan), but I don't know if Benny will want that, since he'd have to do two fight camps in quick succession (with an Oliveira rebooking they would both be in the same situation). But he's a savage so he probably won't care.

Islam says he's not that interested in Justin/Dustin and wants Dariush.

They should take Islam off that Abu Dhabi card and make Beneil vs. Islam in july. Or just do an interim Beneil vs. Arman in july if Islam does not want to fight before october.

I find it ridiculous that there is even talk about Leon fighting in the summer, if they ”force” other fighters to sit out for 9 months or more.
 
every time he gets asked about it he yaps about christianity and other bs. he clearly doesn't want it.

Seriously just book Islam v Benny for July. Fuck the interim idea though.

Its wild that people think Dariush should get a title shot when his only top 10 win has been Gamrot.
