On the latest "MMA Insiders" podcast, Jason Floyd claims that Bendo is getting $250K per fight from Bellator. Sam Caplan's source says Bendo is getting $275K.

Both Floyd's and Caplan's sources say that Mitrione is getting $125K. The UFC apparenlty offered Mitrione a $75K/$75K deal.

Link to the podcast? Dam, bellator is starting to throw some money around. I'm sure a lot of mid level UFC fighters are glued to their phones when it comes to these types of reports. I'm sure many will follow how Rory's situation plays out.

That is a lot of cheese for a "2nd rate" org.

Thanks for the info.

Very interesting.

I wonder what MacDonald is going to do? I bet Bellator is going to offer him Bendo type cash, I hope UFC matches the offer though.

Edit: Mitrione would have made 150K with each win in the UFC. I know he gets paid more upfront by Bellator, but there's no win bonus, and it sounds to me he isn't confident that he can beat UFC fighters anymore.

The money is just icing on the cake. What's more important is that he no longer needs to humiliate himself by wearing a UFC Fight Kit.

Doesn't really matter how anyone's situation plays out. Bellator isn't offering this sort of money to everyone just certain people. For instance Sterling was not offered anything like this. Then again I'm surprised they gave Mitrione that much.

That and sponsorship pay.

Probably gets more in guaranteed money and sponsorships than he'd get total in the UFC.

The difference is that mittrione and benson will deliver better ratings immediately, while sterling has a long way to go before he starts getting the ratings on.

One could argue that they are going public with these numbers to show that bellator could be competitive when it comes to paying mid to higher level fighters. This might encourage fighters who fit bellators build to test the waters.

Does Mitrione really bring in ratings? I never saw him like that but I didn't expect Kongo to either and his shows do slightly better then normal.

I know that he is a little known in the mainstream as being the guy who beat the shit out of Kimbo in the UFC, not sure if he does good ratings though. He likes to stand and bang though & he's a HW, so his fights will appeal to most casuals who tune in to watch one of Bellator's tent poles.

I don't think Rory will do anything other than use Bellator/WSOF/whoever to leverage the UFC for more pay, like Overeem and Melendez. He constantly talks about wanting to be a dominant champ some day, and probably knows that he'd never be considered that outside of the UFC

Awesome. I love their being another choice for MMA fighters who are world class and have put in their time!

If that number is true I'm surprised UFC even offered Meathead that much.

Good for Bendo though, that number will def piss alot of Bellator fighters off though, Will Brooks making 36k and being put on the shelf by Bellator.

But thats the game, the UFC names bring in more attention and ratings and thats what Bellator needs.

Being best doesnt matter really, getting paid does.

Most fighters would take more money to fight easier comp and if it means they can never be the real best in the world oh well.

But I dont see Bellator giving Rory that much more than Bendo.

I think UFC keeps him.

They can do this because there are guys on the prelims that are often making less than a 1,000 bucks to fight for them. One prelim fight between two UFC guys cost them more than Bellator's entire prelim payroll.

The ratings are still decent. And any growth can be considered minor. So I doubt they are going to be big players on many guys. But here or there they will spend big.

Good for Matt and Benson they got big pay days. they are worth way more to Bellator than the UFC. In Bellator both guys are the biggest names in their division. In UFC they aren't.

The black belt shorts will be back!
