I wouldn't count on it. Askren couldn't even do that convincingly to Jay Hieron. Rory would be a huge step up from the 3rd rate guys Ben has been fighting lately.

And Koreshkov is a huge step up from Hieron and he murdered him with ease.

With incomplete specialists MMA math becomes less useful. As much as I hate her, Askren is similar to a Ronda Rousey in that the standing striking is terrible but there are high level fighters like Tate that the inability to strike good doesnt matter. It will always be an opponent by opponent basis for fighters like them.

Askren clearly sees something he can exploit in his head vs Rory or he wouldnt have named him as the opponent he said he would fight for free and retire if he lost. Not to say he is right, but he obviously sees something So i think itd be a good fight. There is a reason he wasnt calling out Hendricks or Woodley when offering his fight free deal. MMA wrestlers arent ready for his style because thr standard sprawl will rarely work.
