Was never champ mate, was never any good!
The numerous UFC champs who made their names in PRIDE and Strikeforce laugh at this.
The guy said in the last decade, no-one has competed in PRIDE in the last decade.
There isn't a Major League in MMA. If the UFC offfered superior compensation to all competition, and signed fighters based solely on fighting ability (not personality or style,) then all of the best fighters would fight in the UFC. In reality, many fighters can get greater compensation fighting for Bellator, One, Rizin, or even PFL. On top of that, the UFC will cut high level fighters for reasons not related to their overall level. As a result, they do not have a monopoly on top talent within the sport. Anyone with a brain can deduce this.
Look at Benson Henderson going to Bellator in his prime and getting his ass kicked every night out for his first couple of years. Or Larkin, or Rory for that matter, losing to a Bellator-raised fighter.
TL;DR TS doesn't know shit.
I’m just glad we finally got to see him in the UFC, and got to see a fabled matchup like Maia vs. Askren.
The sport would be different if Askren never got his chance against the best. I give him props for his effort. He had tough matchups, he wasn’t afraid to take risks, and he was humble in defeat.
Fighters only become good when they sign UFC contracts. When they leave (even on win streaks) they're automatically terrible and washed up.
He never had a prime. He was retired for less than a year before he signed with the UFC. It's not like he was retired for years.
TS is a realist who doesn't live in a fantasy land. Each major sport has one real "Big League". The wild west days of MMA org competition for supermacy are over, and the winner is clear. 10 years from now, the other orgs will be on a list like this:
Umm he was retired for a few years before deciding to comeback to fighting. You think he was in his prime when coming to the UFC at the end of his career?
What about Bellator fighter Jorge Masvidal who is about to fight for the title?
That's a red herring. Masvidal never fought for a title in Bellator and didn't come to the UFC with a big win streak. And yes, practically every UFC fighter started in some other org(s). That wasn't the point.
Have u looked at the UFC roster or do u just vomit UFC elitism???????? There’s the “1% top talent” then the rest are horrible talent
So you cherry pick the fighters who didnt have a successful UFC run, in spite of all the numerous other examples. Got it.
Benson Henderson should go back to UFC where da competition is easier
Your post is very confusing. Are you referring to Ben Askren? If so, get the fuck out of here, because your MMA knowledge is shit.
Tiki Ghosn said it best:
or where there's USADA...
No, you totally missed the point....again.
Every UFC fighter came from another organization at some point.
